ive tended to find clarks do ok i do wish they lasted longer but they do have some cheap stores like at junction 32 less choice than a regular one of their shops but can be a lot cheaper. Karimore trainers seem to last a decent length of time but not tried their shoes (they are suually cheap in sports direct and dont change much so just buy another pair when needed)

I use steel-toe'd Groundwork boots. I tend to buy a new pair every 6-8 months but at £30 per and I'm wearing them 5 days a week, 9 hours a day, I can't complain.

I'd been buying SD Dunlop boots which split their soles in a year. Got some Aldi boots and 18 months in still good.

I always used to buy Clarks shoes until they started lasting 3 months on average.

Then Caterpillar shoes or boots until I assume they changed the composition of the sole material as they squeaked horrendously walking up and down the corridors.

Tried Skechers boots. First pair lasted 2 weeks before the padded collar separated from the boot on one of them. Replacement pair lasted 2 weeks before the padded collar separated from the boot on both of them!

Last pair - Timberland Earthkeeper which lasted over 18 months before the sole wore down to being too slippery in icy conditions.

Current pair Timberland Earthkeeper which still look great after about 5 months.

I have being wearing Clarkes Air shoes, had the same ones now for about a year now and still going strong. cost £90 though so I should hope so.

As I tend to walk the school and it could be wet, I'd rather something decent than smart. Never polished them but they still look ok. I replace them when the laces break!

My last pair of plain black shoes from Deichmann cost me around £25 and lasted me three years. I bought another pair last summer to replace them and are still as good as new. They always come up well with a good (proper) polish.

Thanks guys for all your comments. I decided to go for a rockport boot pair from m&m direct. They were reduced down to £60 from well over £100. Trying this time to not do too cheap or too expensive. The DM’s cost me £80 for 4 months, which isn’t good enough. Lets hope I’m not back on this thread within that time.

Clarks Goretex shoes/boots/trainers are the way forward, ridiculous price in the shop but are excellent footwear. Have a look on eBay as for the past 5 years I've managed to buy a ~£150 pair of shoes/boots/trainers that are well made, comfy and 100% waterproof for no more than £50.

My Timberlands have cost about £90 each time. More than I would usually pay but as they last at least 18 months (with minimal care!) and are very comfortable to wear every day it proves very cost effective. Clarks shoes I had were costing £35 to £40 every 3 months!

I'm Buying Clarks Lair shoes.

 

I'm hard on shoes generally - I go through about 5 pairs of trainers a year - and the Clark's last 12 months and they disintegrate from the inside out so I'm pretty happy with them.

 

I'm on my 6th pair of them. I've managed to avoid paying full price (around £80) via various offer sites like wowcher and by buying the previous season version in the sale for around £45 - lowest price was a closing down sale for £15!

I have a wonky foot as a result of a cycling accident in my teens and I scrub the ball and heel on my right foot and I chew the insoles up for the same reason!

Bit of a left field one here, but I wear MoD surplus boots, the Goretex lined ones are great - really comfortable and hard wearing. Just bought my third pair in about 8 years, not bad for £35 a time! I need footwear with decent ankle support due to joint problems, so found these and they're perfect. They polish up well too (when I can be bothered...)

I have big feet for a lady... size 8 ... and frequently buy mens walking shoes and trainers.

 

These are the best thing ever. Bought in Millets sale not long before BETT. Impact resistant soles and memoryfoam insole.
