Asgard Posted September 28, 2017 Posted September 28, 2017 Binned MLS for Koha at one of our academies and haven’t looked back [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106] Now to get the main site to leave heritage and join the Koha revolution ha 1
TechMonkey Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 Apparently we can't issue or return books this morning. Librarian on hold again, she is thankful for speaker phone so she can get on with other things!
mitchell1981 Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Is anyone still having problems today? We can't get our kiosk to talk to MLS at all. Nothing changed at our end as far as I can see. Also, our security gates aren't identifying the names of the books like they usually do.
mitchell1981 Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Just to update, everything working again this morning. No changes this end.
round2it Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 If I had the time I would ditch them, the sales rep I spoke to was the most smug b@#$@=% I have ever had the misfortune to talk to trying to say they don't have issues. If he was in the building I would have kicked him out. Sneeky sod trying to bypass me and spoke to librarian even after repeatedly being told not to. Where are the updates for self hosted users. My support contract says we are paying for support and upgrades. My blood boils every time I have anything to do with them. They are on par with capita now oh wait they are
3s-gtech Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 We're self hosted, and I ditched the support contract (it wasn't as bad a couple of years back). Had to give them an absurd amount of notice, ending up with us paying another full year. Haven't struggled since because I downloaded all the support PDFs first.
mavhc Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Feel free to annoy them more by writing a script to convert their database to something you can import to Koha

Sylv3r Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 We are also self hosted and stopped paying the support contract from September.
mikeprice Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 We are also self hosted and stopped paying the support contract from September. These sort of stories is why we went with a much cheaper stand alone system - no frill - it just does lending and returning - no cloud basic reports etc however the database can be used in Access so if needed I could know up a new report in a few mins which is also how I update the classes every year - nice and easy
mavhc Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 So are there no hosted alternative products? https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=hosted+koha
round2it Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 over a week with no response from support for a ticket 2nd 30 mins on hold so far phone call and we pay for this privilege, MLS you should be ashamed of yourself.

Sounds about right! My initial ticket was 4th September and up to a couple of days ago I had heard nothing. My issue still persists and all quiet again..
localzuk Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 So are there no hosted alternative products? Softlink have a hosted option for Oliver. Much better support than MLS!
Joanne Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 Just submitted a ticket about creating a user and importing extra data. Wanna do bets on how long it'll take them to respond to me? I'm gonna say.... friday.

round2it Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 or send colin an email his address is on one of the moaning at MLS support threads
Katy Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Just submitted a ticket about creating a user and importing extra data. Wanna do bets on how long it'll take them to respond to me? I'm gonna say.... friday. Friday next year? We discovered we had not been using our subscription for a few years when we changed librarians so I tried to get it set up again, gave up after waiting 2 months for someone to help me with importing users from AD and cancelled.
Joanne Posted October 17, 2017 Author Posted October 17, 2017 Oh guys! I'll probably just mess about with it in the meantime anyways... might get it to magically work!
gumbygaz Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 So are there no hosted alternative products? Wanting to ditch Eclipse too, anybody using these guys? https://accessitlibrary.com/ Looks good on the site and comparative if not slightly cheaper price.

My ticket has been open since 4th Sept about an AD issue ha
round2it Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 maybe posting the ticket numbers and MLS might just think about answering and don't forget we pay for the privilege of not getting solutions to problems, quite a good business model.
