I'm afraid to do that just incase I end up with hundreds of duplicates, I've logged a call with MLS but no response as yet.

We have the hosted version it is so sloooooooooow.

Thanks

Paul

I believe it is supposed to sync with borrowers, but it takes ages

I'm still waiting for an update from the 5th September. We can't do an AD Sync as the html5 plugin doesn't work properly and they've removed the option to switch management back to Silverlight.

Are they still using that IE Plugin even for hosted?

Yes and no. There is an Azure AD sync option now also - though we can't do it yet here due to internal reasons.

omg this is too funny. I'm awaiting a panic-ed (how the hell do you spell that?!) phone call / visit from the literacy leader/champion [insert job title here]

Just trying to log it now but getting no response. i assume they don't start till 9am! Can only get a "hi" out of the automated system.

Interesting, I wonder if they are having issues then. We are having intermittent access issues and assumed someone hadn't paid the bill.

Our Librarian was told it was our fault.

That's really bad. Why wouldn't you just admit to the mistake? Let's face it, it's an easy one to make!!

So they're lying as well as having generally bad/slow support. Way to go, MLS.

Or, they're so bad at support they actually believe their own lies.

I was under the impression that we no longer paid for support from MLS but found out the other day that our Business Manager had taken it upon herself to renew the support contract. She then told me that MLS had advised her that they couldn't offer any support for our onsite version of Junior Librarian anyway as they no longer had a member of staff that could offer support. She also told me its now own by Capita, can anyone confirm this please. Maybe they are just trying to get her to "upgrade" to the reading cloud.

They were trying to say it was an SSL cached on the local machine, but SSL certs don't get cached. It was more than likely they imported the new cert on to one server and forgot a load balance server or some other server in between us and the content. This leads them to deny all knowledge as they have done the update so it must be user error. Being generous you could say it was an honest mistake. Less generous you could say they don't understand either the technologies they are using or the infrastructure of their own systems.

They are indeed now owned by Capita.

Maybe they can borrow Capita's partly read "Learn How to Program a Windows 3.1 Application in 24 hours" book then
