A letter that needs to be signed would be your best bet just to cover yourself but i doubt they will come after you, id go one step further and let them know on their social media, they closed their facebook account because of the bad reviews id just tweet them.

Junior Librarian losing data, Help please!
bennz replied to BentleyMiller86's topic in Educational Software
If you have it installed on a local PC it could be user profiles causing your issue, it could be storing the database in the user's temp roaming folder and when you restart it clears it down. -
Junior Librarian losing data, Help please!
bennz replied to BentleyMiller86's topic in Educational Software
Where or how is it installed mate? It is backed by an access database so it's likely when you close the connection the data isn't fully going into the database, I've seen it spin up a temp .mdb as a lock and then abandon it when the PC is restarted. Make sure the app is running as Admin and you have the right level of access to the access database files. Ive also seen wireless networking cause issues if your hosting the database files elsewhere. Along with what everyone else says don't upgrade or pay for support, your wasting money that could be better spent on good quality toilet paper -
It's a good fun game but I haven't really returned to it since I smashed it after release, Project Hospital is another one that's been just released, smacks of early access but is a quality hospital sim.

They will have a copy of it they just don't want to share it as what they state as your terms may not exactly match the ones you would have signed.

Junior Librarian 3 school name has changed
bennz replied to johnwheatley's topic in Educational Software
Hey, from what I remember as its been a while what you have been told is total crap. In the settings somewhere there is an icon for a security guard, in the corner it looks like nothing but if you double click you get a new window where you can change your user id and school name. -
whats the model number?

so when you scan two barcode into notepad it should look like: your manual should have a section on how to configure a prefix and suffix when scanning. The barcode reader when scanning a barcode needs to add a ~ symbol at the beginning and a carriage return at the end to make it a new line, hope that makes a little more sense.
-
To work with MLS your scanner needs to prefix the ~ symbol and have a suffix of a return value.

Anyone seen it or gotten into the alpha? https://www.huntshowdown.com/ love the concept and hope its a little more than 2 players only. There is a good walkthrough of them tracking a spider on the steam store: Hunt Showdown on Steam

Did mine online last week, never actually written a check myself and last time i held one was probably back in my youth working in a store. I had no idea people still used them.

Its such a shame that MLS are clearly monitoring this forum but havent bothered to comment on any of the issues raised by their customers, yet when something is raised about their new app we get you Charlie. Id call you out on this statment: If you approached MLS as you describe then why are MLS staff listed as edoocoo company directors? link Why are the developers posting in your test circles about new features the same developers that work for MLS? MLS Team Page Why is the current managing director of MLS discussing with yourself the commercial opportunities for edoocoo, it certainly seems that he has a lead role, the directors list in companys house backs this up. Why is Ajmal Khan the current technical director of MLS fixing bugs in the edoocoo app: Another question is why edoocoo.com was registered by a company called OOMAGOO LTD which has been dissolved following court ordered liquidation, but I think i found the answer, this company is the one MLS seems to use for its websites: I think its clear edoocoo is an MLS creation, I dont think I have ever come across anything so underhanded in my career. If only they took such an active interest in answering the concern's raised in this topic about the Library system that we are paying for and not their new app which has some serious UI and security issues.

Since MLS is owned by Capita I wonder if they are aware that the people that run MLS on their behalf have spawned another company and are moving Capita customers to use it. You also then have to wonder how much development time, testing etc is being put into the library system schools are paying a large sum of money for. Doesn't seem right at all.

I have high hopes for this given its being developed by some of the original devs, shame EA have the licence for theme hospital and this is only a spiritual successor. Trailer & screenshots look great love the little nods to TH.

The first link contains dates and times without any supporting information, for accurate information on AWS service status and histroy go to https://status.aws.amazon.com/, AWS i believe is the most transparent company out there when it come to outages. The best example of this is the s3 outage of feb 28th if you read the post mortem from it they go into extreme detail on the cause and what they have done to make sure it doesnt happens again, whats surprising from someone like me who uses AWS everyday is how many big names that were effected, the outage only effected 1 AWS region, s3 has built in region replication features to prevent this very eventuality. AWS is also the only company i have come across where cost savings is one of their principles when building systems, however this does require understanding of how pricing works including the cost of things like data transfer. I do think its well worth it and you will save time and money if you do it right dont just lift and shift you have to do it right or you wont see the benefits.

Eclipse Library System moved to hosted and now very slow
bennz replied to lmgtfy's topic in Educational Software
The story I could tell you on that front is shocking. I would advise anyone on their hosted solution to take your own backups. -
MLS have to, they are a sales driven company and need people to purchase the new shiny c**p they peddle to survive, if they were a software as a service company they would not make it all you need to do is read some of the threads around on how bad their support and hosted options are. There are open source alternatives https://koha-community.org/
