  1. Playing Gato submarine simulation on a Compaq Portable (Still have it the attic) around 84/85 . used to spend hours on it.
  2. i have a few in various boxes, the older uap's on 24v . pm me if interested. i won't want them back.
  3. probably best to start somewhere like this: https://www.vcloudinfo.com/2020/01/microsoft-teams-cannot-install-vdi-environment-is-not-detected.html you can add a registry key to make teams think it's a VDI Enviroment. This will install teams as a per machine mode rather than per user. it was working very well for us but since they've added loads of new features (breakout rooms for one) which aren't supported under VDI enviroments , its become an issue again. not found anything easier at the moment.
  4. We went the youtube route , setup a channel and run obs on a laptop (only an i3) found a decent webcam and a separate microphone (webcam sound was rubbish). Have the videos and powerpoint setup beforehand and then start the live stream. Then just switch between when required (took some practice at home filming the dog). Plenty of help online for obs. Any questions just get emailed in and the best (and relevant) ones are then answered. Was alot easier than i thought.
  5. I've been upgrading to 1909 and having a nightmare (just odd behaviour on first logins and randomness) with Profiles both roaming (we still a few) and local ones. A new user works absolutely fine but the moment they log off and back in anything can happen with the profile. In the end i switched to 2004 (it wasn't available via windows update yet but can be downloaded via the upgrade assistant) so far it's worked fine and seems alittle quicker on the older pc's. Perhaps you could try testing one?.
  6. That's the other way round for when a student submits work. This is for when the work is marked or graded and returned. the student should get a notification in the activity feed. Do your students get one?
  7. So like everyone else we are using Teams for teaching. One thing that doesn't seem to work is that when an assignment is returned there is no notification in the activity feed. this is the same for everyone, so i assumed must be a setting in teams admin but can't find anything to reference this. There are videos on youtube showing the assignment returned in the activity feed which you can then click on and it it takes directly into the assignment feedback (see attached) but i can't find out how to turn this on? does it work everyone else? many thanks for any direction to go in!
  8. we have used the trendmicro one https://phishinsight.trendmicro.com/en/simulator Be prepared for alot of grief! there are still members of staff not talking to us. (which could be seen as a win?)
  9. Nope, parents are using one now. it's still supported by O2
  10. The O2 boostbox starts at around £79 but you need an internet connection which you don't have. the only other way would be a voice or data hotspot but as you say there are hundreds of varieties. Have you got power? https://www.mobilerepeater.co.uk/collections/o2-mobile-boosters/products/o2-home-signal-booster i think this is what you might need? (this one is voice only) but others at a higher price are available.
  11. VideoVelocity - Time-Lapse video recording software Had it running for over 4 months without any problems.
  12. We used Microsoft Wireless Display Adapters these fitted to existing kit (both projectors and TV's) windows 10 laptops with Widi just screen share with them. Very easy and simple. They cost at the time around £40 per unit
  13. Have you got the latest key? Our oldest mak key doesn't now work but the new one does. On the Microsoft Volume License website we have four keys listed but the oldest one doesn't work anymore.
  14. yes we've had the same problem. To get round it i've done the following :- Once office is installed, go to uninstall it but hit change then there is an option at the bottom to change key. put the same key in and then click install again. Works for us so far. Could become a major pita
  15. haven't changed it in 16 years, Plus the renewal always finds me!!
  16. Thank you, i'll email them and ask when and if i was going to be told?!
  17. Hello, Interesting post, who told you that Smoothwall will be withdrawing their Anti-Spam product on UTM?? as i've heard nothing??
  18. yes, watched a few videos and used wheat bags (rather than a heat gun) with a small Microwave. So far all have gone well although be extra careful with small glass fragments.
  19. i removed the hard drives in ours and wiped them, i then put them back in(as said videos on youtube it's quite easy) The drive is normally behind the network interface panel. For 5 copiers they wanted to charge £1500!!
  20. if they have the small gold lever? we drill a small hole in it and put a Torx head screw through into the wood (Torx screw purchased on ebay). so far we've never had one removed.
  21. When we needed a fibre switch we went with a Unifi Edgeswitch https://www.ubnt.com/edgemax/edgeswitch-12f/ plugged in and forgot about. the Unifi SFP modules are very reasonable as well. i believe the switch was around £200 at the time
  22. i think this is what you mean ? https://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/78932-change-office-user-info-registry-keys-with-gpo works for us.
  23. Find the user in Active Directory Users and Computers, open it up and select the attribute editor, scroll down the very long list and find the one that is causing the problem (proxyaddresses i think), click edit and change as needed. of course i've made that sound really simple but you may need to check what the settings currently are compared to what to what them to be! or you may need to change someone else so that the existing settings work for that user.
  24. i'm on java 8.101 have you tried the direct firmware link from inside your network to see if its blocked? ? http://dl.ubnt.com/unifi/firmware/U7PG2/3.9.3.7537/BZ.qca956x.v3.9.3.7537.171013.1101.bin
  25. 5.6.24 is out :- https://community.ubnt.com/t5/UniFi-Updates-Blog/UniFi-5-6-24-Stable-Candidate-has-been-released/ba-p/2141297 working here, although very slow to start, ap's are upgrading fine
