Condition was OK, expected for reconditioned machines but so far working well (those we've tested). Service so far is great, can't complain for a good service & price. Was easy to pitch the refurbs, we could have 60 damn decent, well built Dell machines with solid state drives for a shade over 200 notes each, 60 cheap and flimsy crapboxes or about 20 new decent machines. mikeprice Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Bought about 20 Laptops from them a while ago - all work well. Any issues we had were dealt with quickly without any problems - e.g. mouse issues - Dave looked at it and recommended a different driver within a day Customer service is great 2
Tesla Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 (edited) We've probably bought around 30 laptops in the past from them, have just ordered 20 more, and bought around 15 desktops. We always upgrade to an SSD Drive, which helps speed massively especially in slightly older tech. We've had one DOA which was promptly sorted, and a couple of duff batteries which again was promptly fixed without fuss (they were some of the older machines on their site, mind). Any risk of going refurbished is nullified by their great customer service, and the speed of them with SSDs in is blistering. Currently recommend the HP 8470p Laptops for build quality, and the Dell 6420s for looks. They also do a 2 year Return to base warranty as standard, which for refurb'ed gear is very, very handy. Been very hard pushed to find anything cheaper (most refurb sites dont stock more than 3-4 of a particular laptop at one time, i've found), and when we have (for first time in 2-3 years of using CIT Direct), they've beaten it. I think our worst complaint would be that occasionally they are a little slow to respond, but in the end any problem we have had with kit has been sorted out and in the main, I'd happily buy from them again. 3s-gtech Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 We are basically stocked by ICT Direct, save for most laptops which we buy new. We have a few from them which have been fine. Overall experience has been top notch, which is why we've used them for ~8 years now. 2

Quality of refurb is usually excellent, and on the very rare (I think, 4 times in about 90 machines) that there has been a problem they've been swapped or parts provided with no quibbling and promptly. I think our batch of 50 laptops 2 had damaged screen bezels and one had a noisy fan, and out of the rest of the machines, I've had one failed Mobo and a failed HDD. I'm lining up to replace nearly 100 laptops at our federated school and about 60 here, plus about 20 desktops in the next 12 months. 2
MkII Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 They seem to work hard at providing a good quality service. The 20 odd Dell laptops we had last year were superb.. couldn't be happier. Had some server drives off them last year and one was replaced very quickly and painlessly under warranty. They're certainly our go to supplier. 1

The laptops have always been excellent and we have saved boat loads of money buying refurbished, depending what grade you buy you would never know they weren't new. 2
Chris_Cook Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 We brought about 40-50 laptops so far - we are very happy, as are our students. Like others, we've had a couple of minor issues, but all sorted quickly. And to be honest - we've had less issues than with the last 2 lots of new desktops and laptops we brought. With money as tight as it is, and the number of PCs I'm trying to keep going - I would need a really good reason to get anything else. 2

It's always worth going back to them with the other price - we have had some great bulk deals before now.
