  1. Thanks Paul, I will give that a go.
  2. We do advise parents to only use the school website for correct up-to-date information but unfortunately some don't seem to take any notice. We are going sending out another reminder today.
  3. Hi all, We have had a few phone calls this morning asking if school was open as it says it is shut on google. When you google our school (or others as I have checked) there is some info on the right hand side, school address, opening times, phone number etc. This has the incorrect opening times which is where the parents are getting the info from, unfortunately it looks like anybody can suggest an edit and google will update it. Has anybody else come across this and is there a way to stop it? I will try contact google but thought I would check here first. Thanks
  4. CCL Computers, always the cheapest when I need anything, discount for bulk as well.
  5. Still playing at the moment, removed some of the crappy windows apps but they came bag when I logged on as another user. Think I need to take a step back and do some research and reading of previous posts on this subject. Thanks everyone for your input. If anyone is close to Bingley and wouldn't mind me calling over to have a look how you do things then please pm me.
  6. I have just done a standard win 10 start menu redirect for a quick test again and it picks up my file share and apply's the contents but it still shows all the local pc folders/files/programs. Is this right? In Win 7 it didn't. Maybe i'm missing something.
  7. Is it just the same procedure as Window 7? had a quick try and it didn't seem to work, although it was a very quick test so could of screwed something up.
  8. Hi, We have been using Windows 10 for a while now, originally I set it up with classic shell for the start menu/programs and used folder re-direct to a file share so everyone gets the same experience (basically works the same as windows 7). I am currently building a new up to date image and was wondering how everyone else manages the start menu? Am I best of sticking to Classic shell or is there an easier way to do it these days? Thanks
  9. We have 8 year old i3 computers that we have added an SSD and these have given them a boost to last a couple more years. If like us you are short of cash and cannot afford full replacements then installing ssd's is by far the best option.
  10. In Administration - Hierarchy Configuration - Discovery Methods - Active Directory Group Discovery - is this enabled or disabled? I am getting conflicting opinions as to which it should be (as we dont want users in SCCM)
  11. This is exactly how we do ours and the WQL query is the same but still not updating.
  12. Hi, we are having an issue with with SCCM picking up changes in AD. Can SCCM automatically replicate changes made in AD? For example, we have an old computer that has been out of use for 2 months, we replace the old drive with an SSD move the machine from its current location in AD (for example Win 10 Curric OU to Win 10 Admin OU) should sccm pick up this change and move it accordingly? The sccm collections all look to the correct AD OU's but don't seem to update when changes are made, I have checked the schedule and changed it to 10mins to see if anything changed but not made any difference. Thanks
  13. We bought an Epson EBL1300U projector for our hall last year and its fantastic (8000 Lumens). Image is crisp and bright, our hall is large with lots of windows. We had a control box at the side of the stage so no need for a remote along with the electric screen it all looks and works perfectly. We have some excellent installers which make it all a nice smooth process.
  14. This is what ours looks like: We will probably add more at some stage, but these are the most used.
  15. Our staff desktop is minimal as we place everything on the tiled start menu, works well and keeps it tidy.
  16. It does indeed look like a combination of Sophos and eSafe, we have spoken to both of them without much luck so far. Will post once we get a fix. Thanks.
  17. Hi, yes we are using esafe. We will try uninstalling that as well and and trying again. We did have a lot of issues last year with esafe and SSL certificates. Thanks
  18. Quick update, we have just removed Sophos and both Chrome and IE are working again. Anybody else come across this? We will investigate a bit further.
  19. Hi, thanks for the reply. Tried and still no luck.
  20. Hi all, We have started having issues withing the last week with some of our Win 10 machines coming up with err_socket_not_connected error. They have worked fine for months and other machines in the same room/ou work fine. It is happening on both Chrome and IE, tried re-install of Chrome, reset all settings and still the same. Does anyone have any ideas please.
  21. They were set to disabled so I have enabled them and configured as Microsoft advise but no difference. When we try to print a dialogue box appears with Do you trust this printer, windows needs to download and install a software driver from the ... We press install and it starts to install but then just reverts back to the dialogue box.
  22. Hi, One of out Techies has updated a printer driver on his machine for the Pool of MFD's this has resulted in all machines on the network now wanting to install an updated driver, when the user tries to print it advises to update the driver, they press ok and it tries but fails to install. This is both Win 7 and Win 10, tried permissions but not made a difference. Has anyone any ideas please? Thanks
  23. Hi Jamie, Would it be possible for me to visit you and have a look at how you are implementing Windows 10? I went to Sherburn High yesterday and got some useful info but its always good to get a few different perspectives. Thanks Lee
