So as per the title, I'm interested to know what antivirus everyone are currently using on their home PCs?

I'm a long time user of Avast, but have found it's causing my system to be quite slow to boot as of late, which is a shame as it's always been really good at keeping anything nasty at bay without hogging any system resources.

So I'm looking at changing but never been a fan of anything else... Recommendations?

ESET, should be an option really as I believe it's a popular choice

Had I known that was a thing, I'd have added it - however I've never even heard of it until now  I'll add it to the list if I can figure out how:p

I've always used Norton AV then IS... Never had any problems with Viruses etc... I use it on my home PC, tablet andwork PC (love Sophos for the network generally, but prefer to have more local control on my PC)

Oh, derp... I should've read that slower. At home, Avast on my PC and Sophos on my Mac.

I made the same mistake. :o Avast on all of the home PCs.

Me too :p Avast at home but may move that to ESET as the popups drive me mad

ESET, have done for years. I even pay for a copy to have on my work machine as I dont trust SEP. Plus, I dont think it's safe to have the same AV school wide, always a good idea to have a couple of different ones.

Windows Defender isn't on the list.

Win10 Defender on my home pc

I forgot that it was Defender again in Win10 - I was thinking it was still MSE.

I've gone for Sophos now, and uninstalled Avast... Didn't realise how much Avast was slowing my system down! Not sure about using Sophos, not a huge fan of it at work, but we'll see... Something inside me didn't want to Trust Defender :p

Norton internet security, norton safeweb, norton tune up, norton services.

No probs on my celeron, 2gb ram

You brave soul ;)

Sophos, since I found out they did a free home PC version from this thread: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/165855-sophos-free-home-android.html

I really like the idea of Sophos AntiVirus although for some reason even though I've added exceptions it dosen't seem to act on the exceptions so for example I've blocked C:\Program Files\ but it still scans that folder, I've checked the client side and it's for the exceptions...? Have any idea as of why this is happening?

Out of curiosity, why would you not want Program Files to be scanned?
