Anyone else using https://lloydslink.online.lloydsbank.com/Logon/Logon.xhtml??

Apparently it only works with Microsoft IE! Even IE6! But IE10 & IE11 only in compatibility mode:doh: (System Requirements: https://www.lloydsbankcommercial.com/uploadedFiles/CBALB077_0715_V1.pdf)

We've standardised on Google Chrome (for many years) and that (including Mozilla) is not good enough apparently! https://www.lloydsbankcommercial.com/lloydslinkonlinesupport/resources-and-faqs/faqs/Will-my-services-work-on-any-other-browsers/

So, do i really have to install (latest) IE on the required computers now.... :ohwell: :getmecoat:

Alas we also had the fun of Lloyds not supporting modern browser and having to run IE11 in compatibility mode for it... nice that they keep up to date...

same here, always fun when they make updates that break it and you have to go juggle some new activex around or some new firewall exceptions... much to the love of the finance team

Dont think I've ever had to enable compatibility mode for LloydsLink, usually just install the activex control and its good to go. It is ridiculous it doesn't support other browsers though

Do people pay for this?

It seems all the big banks have old systems for their business banking.

The banks certainly don't seem to invest in the business side in the way that they do for personal customers. Businesses pay for their banking, but not specifically for online access that I am aware.

The NatWest system feels like something out of the ark, but it works in Chrome

It's a good thing there are a new generation of banks launching soon that don't have old cruddy systems.

Atom for example will use face and voice biometric authentication (among other things) for both their personal and business customers.

The big banks need to get their act together. It's not as if they are short of money!

It costs a lot of money (apparently) for banks to update their IT systems, about 750 million.

RBS are spending 300 million I understand for the sell off bank, and its just a copy of RBS system/

I just tried the site in the SSL Labs server tester, Lloydslink got a grade C. Only supports TLS1.0 not TLS1.1, or 1.2, no forward security, supports known flawed encryption protocols (RC4). I personally regard this as clear evidence that Lloyds do not take customer security seriously.

The Natwest system is a nightmare, nothing but issues. Got one at the moment were it wont open the pop-up after connecting to the BACS payment system.

For bonus points this morning, Avast detected Lloydslink as a malicious site. I can't say I disagree, but "malicious use of ActiveX to recreate the Windows 95 Cash Manager interface" would be my complaint.

That said, we get free banking from Lloyds and ParentPay transaction costs are very low (can't remember what the deal is exactly).

On the subject of finance websites, anyone's school use BacsActive? Another IE only one with an ActiveX control, plus you have to make various changes to the IE security settings such as accepting any old SSL cert, it's a bit worrying. Plus just for a laugh the ActiveX control disables itself when it feels like it, leaving people able to log in but not actually be able to connect to BACS

Its not like they have billions in profits they could re-invest.....

RBS Group still uses soooo much win 2003 it is horridly scary they have shiny new PCs in the branches I've been in lately with Win 7 you think cool then they do all the work in Terminal Servers running 2003 and really old IE browser version that are non supported on Win 7.... :(

Glad it's not just me that thinks the Llyods Link online is scary, we even have to run the BACs from FMS through some converter first. But until about 4 years ago we was still having to use a win 2k PC with them and a Modem with a PIN machine between the PC and the Phone Socket. I was so glad for the online one but it really is scarily old the way it works.

I feel similar pain when I have to power up my Windows boot area on my macbook to have to use my parents activex based CCTV software, its awful, we have to do the same here for our CCTV too and it is the same for our usage here though of a horrific java/IE supported courier label printing interface at work, which has always been problematic for our site and its quirks.

Edge isnt any great improvement either imo, though it apparently is early days - as far as I am concerned though, no ublock/adblock - no likey !

Lloyds has a special place in my heart though for the pain of their normal account pages, I dare not change a thing security wise on there as I will likely never get in again, complete PITA.
