Good Morning Our CEO is looking at wanting a staff absence dashboard showing her things like absence by school, the main reasons etc. We use Edupay so would have to be done on excel sheet and then PowerBi. She's asked if anyone currently has something similar either in Bromcom/Arbor/PowerBi that they would be willing to share anonymized screenshots to give us an idea of what other Trust's do Many thanks

Hello Just wondering how other Trusts compare attainment data across their schools? We have 2 using Bromcom assessment and 1 using something else so comparison is hard. There's also various spreadsheets and sometimes the data is incorrect. There is also lots of double keying. I guess Bromcom vision does this? Just wondering what everyone else uses

Hello Does anyone know if there is an edugeek FPL league this season? Thanks

Good Morning We used Senso for a year at our trust and had nothing but issues with it. Machines no picking it up plus all the other issues you mention above. We switched to Classroom.cloud from Netsupport and all the issues have gone away Karl

Hello We have recently gone 1:1 devices and pupils will be taking them home shortly. We have a few that don't have access to wifi at home. Just wondering how others have gone about solving that. Have you provided dongles? Had a company talk about wifi-meshing with large companies that don't use their allowance but I think that will be lengthy to setup. Thanks

Looking on National Rail website, timetables won't be released until 25th March https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/318133.aspx?_gl=1*1oe97w9*_ga*MTI0MDE2NjQwOC4xNjc4MjAzMzQw*_ga_9XZQ64P5VS*MTY3ODIwMzMzOS4xLjEuMTY3ODIwMzUxNi4wLjAuMA.. Check before you travel: The National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner is not yet showing the strike day services. Hi We are currently a MAT of 2 large primary schools. The CEO has asked me to do a plan should another school join with us. I have one from when we became 2 schools, however I think we ran before we could walk and essentially did it over a couple of weeks. Does anyone have a plan they are willing to share ? Things like migrating emails into our tennancy, AD accounts, etc. Lets presume they are on our WAN but not Azure It's issues like do you loan a server to set it up on the MAT domain, setup AD etc then migrate over to the other server? When do you image the machines so they are on the same domain etc? Many thanks

Nope not as yet

Hi We are migrating some of our shared drives to Office 365 Sharerpoint libraries. At present, the users are manually clicking the Sync button as a one-off in order to put a link in their file explorer. How can I role this out via GPO rather than staff doing it manually? I've tried to follow this .. https://katystech.blog/office365/automatically-syncing-teams-sharepoint-libraries But it seems quite complex and I was thinking there must be an easier way. Also we have the setting "Configure team site libraries to sync automatically" under Computer Config but not under User Configuration Any help appreciated.

We just use a simple Microsoft Form that goes to a Sharepoint list presented to the caretakers as a powerapp.

Hi all We are just trailing the use of MCAS at the moment. A few parents have reported (and I've seen the settings) that they don't receive notifications on there phone when a new announcement is sent via MCAS despite the "Push notification" button ticked and notifications allowed on the iPhone / Android. Some parents get the notifications, others don't. I have spoken to Bromcom support but they say it's down to the persons phone (which I suspect it is) Does anyone know of anything else we can test / try? Has anyone else had these issues reported? Thanks

Hi all We have the DfE Geo laptops. When we image them, we get the error below "Checking the connection to Microsoft, this might take a while" MDT works with desktops Any ideas please

Thanks for that works a treat

Amazing, that picks up the correct date. Is there a way to list all AD accounts that have expiry date of before today? Thanks

Hi We use AD admin centre to set staff Passwords to expire every 90 days However if I run net user username /domain in powershell it says it expires in 2023 I have tried a script but it still doesn't pick any up as AD thinks they are not expiring till 2023 Does anyone have a different script we can use to see if a password has expired Thanks

NDA For Staff Before September
karldenton replied to karldenton's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
Hi thanks for everyone's input, sorry for the delay in updating. After seeking legal advice and consulting internally I think we've come to some sort of agreement. This is that staff can have a temporary login for use in the holidays, no access from home, no MIS and no email, and ideally be supervised when in school in the holidays. The issues we faced was that been a volunteer and signing an agreement, we couldn't say if you breached it you'd be in disciplinary as they were not technically employed, and you couldn't say if you breach it your start date might be in jeopardy as that wasn't an original condition of employment. It really does seem to vary from schools who don't allow anything, to schools that allow them full access - and everything in between ! -
Hi I've read the sticky thread above http://www.edugeek.net/forums/data-protection-information-handling/196381-gdpr-new-staff-accounts-access-data-before-official-start-date.html I'm wondering if anyone has an NDA to give staff so they can access the network before September that they would be willing to share. HR and us are in agreement that access shouldn't be given before September. However the HT is really pushing for it. Signing our AUP I don't think will cover it so wondered if people went down the NDA route Thanks

Hi I'm trying to move files that haven't been accessed for 5 years to an archive folder. The script I have is below. It all works fine, finds the files, outputs to csv, but it doesn't move them Any ideas please Function Get-NeglectedFiles { Param([string[]]$path, [int]$numberDays) $cutOffDate = (Get-Date).AddDays(-$numberDays) Get-ChildItem -Path $path | Where-Object {$_.LastAccessTime -le $cutOffDate} } get-neglectedfiles -path E:\shared\reference -numberDays 1825 | select fullname, lastaccesstime, length |export-csv -path C:\temp\files.csv | move-item -force –destination E:\archive

Hi We are getting RDS installed and setup shortly. We would like to give all teachers "File Explorer" as a published app so they have access to network shares. What is the best way of getting it to them so it goes onto their start menu? Can they just access the RDWeb page and download the apps they need? Thanks

[bromcom] Any Bromcom/iSams/Arbor Users in the North West
karldenton replied to sefton's topic in MIS Systems
We use Bromcom in our MAT. Had it at 1 school before I started but migrated a school 18 months ago from Sims to Bromcom. To be honest all Bromcom need is a backup of the sims SQL database (not a sims backup) and they import it all for you. We're not far from Ben (above), North of Manchester. I'm on leave this week so have limited access to emails etc
