  1. We use NetSupport DNA here for safeguarding and have for a while. One of the main benefits is the "Safeguarding Users" setting. It means access can be given to the safeguarding staff for them to look through the alerts (or get sent the email). It takes the need off the IT manager to look through the alerts. The IT managers haven't had any training on how serious the alert maybe so it puts the onus on people that have. Netsupport also works contextually, so if a keyword in the phrase bank was typed into powerpoint, it would get a lower alert than if it was typed into Chrome / IE, as the student may be doing a presentation and used the word, whereas on the internet they could be researching. If you have any Netsupport queries feel free to drop me a PM
  2. Great, enabled that setting and it works fine. Many thanks
  3. Hi We have just moved to scan to email rather than scan to folder on our Sharp MX3650N. We use papercut. Is there a way when a user scans there card to sign in on papercut, the email address that is on the papercut database can be passed through to the sharp software so that the user doesn't need to enter their email address for the scanning. I've had a read of https://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/SSOonEmbeddedDevices/ Thanks
  4. As @Brimstone says above (and I have literally done this today). Best option as long as they are running ios11 you can add them to dep via Apple configurator. This will then sync with your mdm and the devices can be fully supervised
  5. Hi We have started getting a few issues where if a staff member has an Excel sheet open, and someone else opens it, it doesn't open it in Read only mode. It allows them to open it fully, its only when they come to save does it say someone else already has it open. Its definitely the same file path. Any ideas? Thanks
  6. @Al_NetSupport will be able to help you with pricing.
  7. We have a Sophos UTM and at our smaller sites have a Sophos RED50. It essentially is like running a cable between the sites. Users get an IP address from the red but they access the domain like they are logging on at the main site. It’s seamless.
  8. Looking forward to it Al. I will be on the NetSupport Stand all day on Wednesday so feel free to pop by and have a chat about how as an IT Manager I get the best out of NetSupport DNA for our MAT.
  9. Morning, Does anyone know where I can get Universal C Runtime for Server 2016. Basically I'm trying to run WAMP on Server 2016 but it comes up with errors about dll's missing, which come part of the runtime. However, when I've downloaded the server 2012 ones they all say update not required for this system Thanks
  10. Hi Mic, Does that mean that Edge is now fixed?
  11. use NetSupport DNA, and have done for nearly 2 years. What are your most needed features. We are multi-site so use NetSupport to remote control computers a lot. However, we also use all the other features. e-Safety monitoring is amazing. You can set the words based on severity, which depends on whether it is alerted, screenshot, or videoed. There is a lot of talk recently about whether it is the IT managers responsibility to go through the e-safety logs, NetSupport DNA has a safeguarding users feature so the IT manager doesn't have that responsibility. DNA also has a comprehensive hardware / software inventory, a long with dynamic categories, so you can sift out all your machines with 6GB ram for example. DNA also fully supports Windows 10 Store apps, and importantly, Microsoft Edge, which I believe Impero doesn't. Netsupport also do not tie you in to long term contracts, just be aware of that with competitors. Support is great too, no waiting several days for an answer, they always have time to fix your issue. Pricing is very competitive. They also have an intense development schedule and listen to feedback from IT managers to add features in
  12. Hi, Has anyone managed to export the start layout when they have a shortcut to File Explorer. If I (via elevated powershell) export-startlayout to C drive, without shortcut to File Explorer it works. If I do it with File Explorer shortcut I get Unspecified Error, Thorn exception in StartTileData.dll Doing it on Win 10 1703 with all latest patches Given the end of classicshell I would like to get this working if possible. Thanks
  13. Bromcom here. In terms of the fact it’s cloud based it is great. From a user point of view if staff are used to sims it take a bit of getting used to. Things like the early years headcount don’t always integrate with Bromcom as good as with sims.
  14. Yes downloaded some packages today and they were slow.i do quite like version15 though
  15. Hi, We have some original iPad 2's. Does anyone know a way of adding them to Apple School Manager when we can't track down where they came from. They are ours - honest ! I could dig out the invoices but some are 5 years if not more, so just wondered if there was an easy way before I start digging Thanks
  16. Hi We need to investigate some URL's for google video that have been accessed. On our UTM they come out of the log as https://r5---sn-aigllnds.googlevideo.com/ for example However, I cannot get to that URL again to see what the exact video was. Could anyone help please. Every URL has a 404 error Thanks
  17. Hi, Just wondering how you have disabled the store app with App Locker. Just having a go at removing it now and I'm struggling to find the store location so it can be blocked with App Locker EDIT - we are running Win 10 pro and it doesn't show as packaged app to be blocked !! Thanks
  18. Agree with the above. We have 2 different technologies. FTTC and virgin cable 300mb business. Use virgin for internet traffic endnote fttc for inter site connectivity. If virgin goes down our Sophos UTM auto fails over and no one knows.
  19. Correct, picking up DHCP from the UTM with a default filtering profile as well so the iPads don't touch the main network (That's the theory)
  20. We are just doing pretty much the same. We have a Sophos UTM so I’ve setup one interface to give out a different range of IP addresses for WiFi . On our HP main switch HP1920 I’ve untagged the port the UTM is plugged into. I’ve tried tagging other ports on the main switch that have WiFi connected as a test and I can get it to work Next step tomorrow is pass vlan down a fibre to HP 1920 and 1810. Let me know how you get on Someone told me about this the other week but took some thinking to learn what tagging and untagging meant. I grabbed this from a HP forum if you want that a port only belongs to one VLAN, set the port to UNTAGGED. If you want a port in more then one VLAN, you need to set it to TAGGED. If a host should belong to more than one VLAN, the port must be TAGGED (for example an VMware ESX Server with guests that belongs to different VLANs). If you want to uplink a switch to another, you need to set the uplink port to TAGGED, for each VLAN which should be accessible over the uplink
  21. We just run folder redirection rather than roaming profiles. Nothing is set in the profiles tab in AD. Running Windows 10 1703 and Server 2016 and had no issues
  22. We just run folder redirection rather than roaming profiles. Nothing is set in the profiles tab in AD. Running Windows 10 1703 and Server 2016 and had no issues
  23. Perfect. I was doing it in IE so it recognised it
  24. Hi, I am just playing with setting up an RDS server. All is setup and working fine. I have published a few apps such as notepad etc as a test and they all load fine. Is there a way to make a shortcut on the desktop to the programs rather than logging in via the RDWeb page. Thanks
