Colin from Accounts (via iPlayer. Series 1: 8 episodes)

 

Ashley and Gordon, two single-ish, complex humans who are brought together by a car accident and an injured dog. Flawed, funny people choosing each other and being brave enough to show their true selves and navigate life together.

 

We are box setting (again) we are up to episode 7, and (I think) each episode has given 5Foot2 at least one good belly laugh.

Started The Night Agent on Netflix. An FBI guy who mans a phone that never rings gets a phone call that thrusts him into a conspiracy deep in the heart of the intelligence services. Two episodes in, and it's pretty good. Reminds be a bit of early "24" (Wayne Palmer joins the cast soon) without the CTU stuff. Took me ages to realise that the main lady is Tripitaka 2 with hair.

Weird, I was just about to post this up. I'm on episode 8 now and am quite invested in it. A good story with just enough reveals each episode to keep you going.

I'm using it as a surrogate Reacher

The main male lead, Gabriel Basso, is a bit wooden though IMO.

Has any one seen "The Power" on amazon? If so, is it worth bothering with? The premise sounds pretty interesting and the trailers look cool, but it sounds like it could get awfully preachy.

It's on the "to watch" pile, but Mme LeMarchand isn't keen. The book has been on the "to read" pile for some time, too!

I watched the majority of episode one. I couldn't get through it. My one word review (not knowing enough of it to attempt a more in depth précis)

Ep 3 of "The Night Agent": The president's daughter looks like she's going to be the Kim Bauer of the piece - pretty and getting into all sorts of trouble due to making dumb decisions. Is anyone else finding the constant use of both of boss lady Diane's names making them think that of the actress with the same name?

If you haven't tried it yet, Marcella is one of the all-time best police murder hunt series, but be warned it's very dark. Anna Friel is outstanding in the title role.

Watching Rough Cut on Netflix at the moment it's spoken in Welsh so its a learning curve being an Englishman (extra points for the subtitles though) its quite entertaining 2 episodes to go.

We've been watching the new series of The Bay and Redemption on ITV recently, both very good.

Saw the Picard series finale last night and loved it. Had a few nit-picks (will wait until after the weekend to post those in case of spoilers) but otherwise, near perfect.

Completely agree. Make sure you keep watching after the poker game at the end for another post credits scene. I'm listening to the soundtrack that was released yesterday, it's pretty damn good too. It's on Apple Music and all the other streaming platforms.

 

Also watched the last episode of Mando S3. That was good as well, tied up the series well. The way it's ended, it could easily be have been the last but there's another series coming apparently. Looking forward to Ashoka later on in the year.

No spoliers! I'm to watch to it later tonight, but have been very impressed by this season so far. Far, far better then the previous two, although I think they have gone overboard on character fan service.

They even had to bring back Picards corpse!

Have started another scandi noir - Those who kill ? but my goodness it is definitely noir - the screen is so dark I can sometimes barely make out who is there!

When can we discuss Picard?

 

Re NA Season 2, the report I read seemed to think they might go down the "in the world of The Night Agent" route. With characters returning, but not necessarily with such prominent parts.

 

Re other Season 2s, "Wheel of Time" has started to release casting announcements so I guess the wheels are turning on that one at last.

Started watching The Detectorists last week really enjoying it funny and dry an entertaining watch, one of my mates is a detectorist and he describes his days out just like they are TV series, (he's like most hobbyists a fanatic,with me it's photography) I said to him the other day, "have you watched the series" and he said "just the one episode but was waiting for the box set to come out so I could binge watch it all".

 

Now that's what I call living in history or the past.
