If you watch The Mandalorian or The Expanse you have already seen Mr + Mrs Kim in guest spots. Kimchi also gets around a bit.

 

Re Aussie shows, if you enjoy "cosy" crime they have a few OK ones.

 

Wanted was quite good, that's on Netflix here but more than 20 minutes. My partner and I watched The Twelve, which was pretty good too, if a little slow. That's on ITVX. I really liked Mr Inbetween and that is 20-25 minutes. It's on Disney+ here. All Aussie shows, maybe they'll change your partner's mind @FN-GM

 

Failing that, Neighbours has started on Amazon again

Mme LeMarchand has been away caring for an elderly relative, so I'm a bit behind and have only managed the first eps of:

 

Secret Invasion. So far, so meh. The Skrulls live where they can show they're true form apart from the main cast members? I hope that the on screen deaths aren't permanent for a couple of characters.

 

Strange New Worlds S2. For some reason I felt this was the strongest episode yet.

 

The Witcher S3. At last they've got Geralt's wig right! (Or he's got extensions or maybe even grown/died his hair). Plus the fight scenes worked a lot better. A strong start to the season. Was a bit odd seeing Robbie Amell in something this big-budget, though.

Was hoping to watch Andor whilst Mme LeMarchand is on funeral duty in the Midlands, but she wants to give it another try. So I picked The Rig. It's basically a Doctor Who "base under siege" tale minus The Doctor (though with characters who can do incredible things and make amazing deductions) but with a slightly bigger budget set on an oil rig and stretched out over six episodes. I wasn't impressed and spent a lot of time thinking, "But why can't they/don't they...?". Apparently the Scottish accents are dodgy, but I couldnae tell laddie. Annoyingly, this has got a second season and the ending did pique my interest. I'll probably just read a synopsis, though.

 

If you're in the mood for a "nature takes its revenge" show, The Swarm on Sky is far superior. Unfortunately that one didn't get renewed.

It was thoroughly enjoyable and trod the line between outrageous and could-be-explained-away very well.

I can recommend Gregg Wallace: The British Miracle Meat. Imagine an episode of Inside the Factory crossed with Soylent Green. I do genuinely enjoy watching Inside the Factory, and Gregg's performance in this is superb.

From is great, and Season 2 starts up again soon (I think). For the creepy factor, nothing quite beat the old lady from the very beginning of episode 1 for me.

I'm about half way though Silo on Apple TV+. More 'grown up' sci-fi, which I really enjoy, although I can't help shake the feeling it is similar to the teen dystopian sci-fi which was popular about a decade back. Think Hunger Games and Maze Runner etc.

But for adults!

Silo is very well written (based on the book Wool by Hugh Howey) and reveals its secrets slowly. The adaptation for the screen is truly excellent and so is the high-quality cast. Thrilling SF and I'm glad it's been renewed for S2.

I did enjoy Silo, but there were a fair few.. Maybe not plot 'holes', but things that just really didn't make much sense when you give them much critical thought. In hindsight, knowing the ending, it seemed like the major plot-point was overly-complex just for overly-complex sake. That being said, I didn't guess the ending (and I'm usually pretty good at that!) and it did keep me very entertained, so I'd still recommend it.

Won't say anything further though because it would be a massive spoiler.

 

(Also obligatory 'I haven't read the books though' so it could be they changed a tonne of stuff and it all made much more sense on paper)

We've just finished We Hunt Together (tips hat to 6foot2) Season 1 now on BBC iPlayer. A slightly slow start but plenty of clever and quirky stuff and then gets really mad. Quite dark in places but well acted and looking forward to season 2 which is on nowTV.

On par with the first, only thing that keeps bugging me is the amount of new storylines they keep opening up and not closing or the multiple 'we don't know how that happens' to a lot of things!

Goodbye, Henry. Finished the last of Henry Cavill's "Witcher" eps. After a strong start, the last couple of eps were a bit disappointing. Did we really need a whole ep of Ciri in the desert? The final ep was a poor send off for HC, and they blew an easy way to explain away the recast.

My partner and I have been watching Only Murders In The Building on Disney+

 

I like it a lot and I think she does to. Steve Martin and Martin Short are almost always worth watching, especially when they're acting together and Selena Gomez is surprisingly funny too. It has an excellent supporting cast and the story is strong. Very much recommended.

 

Have been watching Good Omens Season 2 as well, so far so good.

Depends how long you want to wait. AFAIK Rings of Power isn't going to be out until this time next year at best (they'd already said they were skipping a year due to the move to the UK before the writers strike).
