Spent most the the past few weekends playing F1 2016 on the PC again and bumped up the AI difficultly.

Then for a laugh popped onto the F1 2015 I still had installed, as it was as if the Force Feedback was disabled as they had improved it so much between the 2 versions.

Roll on F1 2017 later in the year as the FFB gets yet another improvement.

I think the title of the thread means any gaming topic is open for discussion. But agreed new threads would have to be created for in depth talks about specific games

I'm really pleased with Black Desert Online. Played a bunch of it this weekend. Killing hordes of Imps with my Kriegsmesser is great fun. AOE swords are fun.

The map is huge, there's no fast travel, and people can mug you and steal all your stuff. :D

Horizon: Zero Dawn. Robot dinosaurs, what's not to love?

Bought this last week, working my way through the tutor section. Only problem is i'm busy playing Zelda on the switch !

Did they fix the lots-of-stuff-being-client-side yet?

I did a little digging into the hacking accusations and what I found was that, like The Division, lots of things such as health, mana and ability cooldowns are all handled client-side and are easily spoofed to give unlimited health/mana and no ability cooldowns.

No idea. Not come across any issues yet.

as a contrast i started ff15 on sunday played it for maybe 2 hours and thats about as much as i can take the other 3 main characters wont stfu with innane babble ever the controls are odd and its just nothing like as much fun

just have to figure out how to conceal it best i can so the boss doesn't see huh? ;)

hack an old laptop to just a hdmi screen and plug it into that controller under the desk on a pit of string so you can drop it and let it swing?

YOu've thought this through way too much.

I need more people to play ps4/rocket league.

Mount it to the wall with a picture frame around it and if the boss asks about it, say it's one of those digital picture frames.

Mass Effect: Andromeda unlocked last night on Origin at 11pm, and I played about an hour before going to bed. It's... Interesting... I'm still only on the first mission so I haven't got very far but this first mission really strongly reminds me of Halo 4. I guess it's the whole alien, unknown environment thing. Still, I'm really eager to get home and carry on playing!

I've played about 3 hours of ME:A (signed up for Origin Access for a month at £3.99 to get the ten hour trial) and... eh. I'm conscious that I'm mentally comparing the opening 3 hours to the highlights of a 120-hour trilogy, but the writing is clunky (please, explain my own father's superstition and near death experience to me, I'm sure I don't know!), the combat seems okay but I'm stuck with boring guns and boring powers fighting boring bipedal aliens with assault rifles (there's nothing like travelling 2.5 million light years to find the same basic enemy combatants you've always known!) and I can't change my loadout mid-mission to equip the sniper rifle YOU JUST TOLD ME TO PICK UP and there's so much idiot plot that graaargh.

The new jetpack is cool, though.

So yeah. Two nights of playing through the first mission (just made it to the Nexus) and last night I chose to go to bed early instead. Not a great sign. Deus Ex Mankind Divided is 70% off on the Humble Store this weekend, might go buy that instead :)

(If you're playing ME:A on PC, btw, make sure you're playing in Borderless Windowed mode, because if you're playing fullscreen then the game freezes in the big cutscene at the end of the first mission, and everytime you reload it starts at the beginning of said cutscene, which adds up to about 15 minutes total. And you can't skip any of it. Not even lines of dialogue. This is very frustrating, believe me.)

ok i tried again with ff16. Can someone please explain to me why people rave about this game? granted im only 90 mins or so in but im tempted to say its dreadful. The controls suck your 3 party members just wont shut up, i feel no desire to explore in fact ive done the main quest to a point where it says you wont be able to come back here for a while an i just diddnt care, got driven to some checkpoint saved and gave up and played daytona usa (just arived on backwards compatability) for 1/2 an hour and enjoyed that much more. Still finding it hard for anything to scratch the same itch botw did but as theres dlc coming for that and ive completed the story i dont want to play that to death so that when the dlcs out i dont care

My biggest frustration with the game is the camera during battle, especially if you're in the woods and instead of anything meaningful you get a screen full of trees. The side missions are more fun than the main story but ultimately if you're not enjoying it then you're not enjoying it.

It doesn't have the same pull that most of the other FF games had for me, I have done all of the achievements but haven't felt compelled to play on beyond that. Whereas with FFVII I managed to get Aerith to Ultimate Limit, got a Golden Chocabo, obtained Nights of the Round, beat Emeral and Ruby Weapon, get Vincent and Yuffie and reached level 99 just because.

To be fair, there were also significantly fewer AAA/'big name' games being released back then. I spent so long playing FFVIII (clearly superior to FFVII :p) because I didn't have many other games, and I didn't get new games very often.

Now I'm an adult with a job and Steam, I can get any game I like, when I like, which has significantly lowered the attention-lifespan of games for me.

i remember playing through it at least twice when i was younger once on ps1 once on pc and while i doubt i ever 100% it i think i did most stuff. I got it on steam a year or so ago and ive got to teh end game i just cba with the grinding i need to do to get through the caves to the final boss. again similar with 8 im sure i completed it but have pretty much 0 memory of it got it on steam and played for a few hours before giving up. got ff 6/9/10/10 2 on steam a while back as they were all cheap (i think i may of played 9 but again have no memory of it) and 15 was "cheap" on xbox at the time not started any because i knew zelda was imminent now i suspect they may end up permanently in my steam library unplayed as thinking back bar 7 i dont think ive ever really enjoyed any of the ones i have played to the point i cant remember them (bar 13 i remember playing 13/13 2 but all i remember is enjoying them i dont remember pretty much any plot)

on teh plus side secret of mana has been announced for swith in japan so im hoping that comes to the west and if they do that id like to tackle chrono trigger one day

i wonder if zelda has just ruined games for me for a while by being so damn good at what it does i might just have to try playing stuff so different i cant compare it

well played in the splatoon 2 testfire over the weekend that was fun still prefer using rollers. Getting into the first one was a bit of a pain just wouldnt let me start but once on was ok. The back to doing more botw (ive just abandoned ff15 even the thought that it cost me £38 and i need to get more than 90 mins out of it cant get me back into it im just glad i diddnt buy the version with dlc) done more side quests finished shrines id found but couldnt work out at the time and found more shrines so in the course of Sunday afternoon ive managed to expand my stamina wheel 3 times so i now have 160% more stamina than i started the game with mountain climbing is much less dangerous now jsut need to find the 3rd part of the climbers gear to make it faster (though most of my exploring was in snowy areas so wouldnt of helped) lol. Did find the most anime thing ever in the game though a secret mountain hotspring (its even named someones secret hotsprings)

Picked up Playerunknowns Battlegrounds or whatever it's official name is! Although I think the name is a bit pants, it sure as hell walks all over H1Z1. Been loving it, feels like a proper Battle Royale game at last!

Was about to give up on Alice: The Madness Returns when I finally got past the bit I was stuck on. None of the guides I looked at seemed to give a decent description of how to defeat one of the enemies (who wasn't that bad once you knew...).
