I'm just about to start playing in my third season of Bat and Trap (old Kentish game). Came second last year. Generally play on my Xbox with friends and visit the pub.
Earthling Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I used to referee kids' football matches on a Sunday. As mentioned, good exercise and a bit of cash. I gave it up in 2005, when I started thinking that I'd rather stay home and be abused by people I know instead of by strangers. It's in the back of my mind to take my badge again and give it another go for a couple of years. Before I went off sick, I used to get home, stare at the wall for a little while then crack on with the business of living. Cooking, tidying-up, change the budgie's water and so on. I started building a model railway just before Christmas. Long, slow, contemplative, sometimes absorbing, sometimes frustrating. I'm trying to theme it on 'Red Dead Redemption'. Difficult on a 6 x 4 layout. I've started decorating the bathroom with stencils and an airbrush. Never used one before. I always have Chill DAB radio on Chill. Listen to chillout music online or iTunes library on shuffle when Chill gets repetitive.

Once in a while I go up to the meetings, make myself known and say hello. . Sounds like quite an honour indeed for what reason was this honour bestowed upon you? We have a huge problems with people, who throw away their pets for different reasons, and our groups of volunteers try to solve it. Unfortunately, government doesn't help us at all. Everything we do - we do by ourselves. Take pets at home, cure them, find good owners, perform promotional events for collecting some donations, and make people be more responsible. At home I watch films, learn english and spend time with my husband. At summer weekends we work in our family garden outside the city. Grow appels, cucombers, tomatoes and other fruit and vegetables
Iain.Faulkner Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 An impressive and very diverse set of hobbies/past times on here... I have a 21 month old son, so he takes up the vast majority of my time. Other than him, I try to play golf at least once a week (with the odd range session thrown in as well). I'm training for the Manchester 10k so try to get out running 2/3 times a week including being a ParkRun convert on a Saturday morning (I'm grateful for the wakeup call my son gives me on a weekend)....I play a bit of football...pretend to be a Manchester City fan (although I don't go so much anymore, but did have a season ticket for 6 years just prior to the Sheik buying the club)...big fan of Lego, my house has a large number of lego models dotted around it which I spend a large amount of time protecting from my son :-)
Tesla Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Bring a new home owner is taking a lot of getting used to right now, so that takes up a lot of time I like playing football, and i like to try and keep fit (although battling constant injuries atm, i sound more like im 42 than 24! I'm also thinking about taking up cricket to some level, but no idea where to start with that. I have a lot of consoles...but more of a collection nowadays rather than me playing them. ( I don't like to trade any games i have liked/enjoyed playing....)

tjgeds Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 I'm a Chrildrens and youth worker at my church so I run various groups during the week. I'm planting a church on my estate. 5-a-side football once a week. I play pool really badly every couple of weeks in my local pub. I play acoustic, bass, and electric guitar, the ukulele, and the cajon/hand percussion so practice as often as I can. Unsuccessfully attempting to start a band with some friends. Avid netflix watcher. Avid snapchatter. Sleeping or at work during the rest of my time. 1

I play a couple of computer games in a semi-competitive nature I also tend to drive around looking at various museums, as well. Went to Coventry Air Museum over the weekend to go see the Vulcan they have there, as well as planning my trip down to Bovington Tank Museum for tankfest. I play drums and am looking to learn bass at some point, as well.

Gaming: Been a gamer since pre-consoles, and I don't see that changing. Tabletop Roleplay: D&D, Rolemaster, Dredd, GURPS, Pathfinder. Wargames: Started on Workshop (like many), but branched out to various systems and members of our group have even published rulesets (Manoeuvre-Group). Dice God: See the two above, I can often ask the dice for a result and they will oblige - annoying other players. Airsoft: Haven't been for a while due to house and garden sorting, but I should be back out there soon. Motorbike Racing: That is watching it, even to the point of having an inter-family dream team competition. Edited May 5, 2015 by korifugi

Family used to be the way I spent most of my time other than acting and one exercise class, but now they have grown up I do more exercise classes, go to the gym, play in an orchestra, sing in a choir, practice my instrument, and am the local Neighbourhood Watch officer for my street. I volunteer for a dog-walking charity (my dog died at Christmas) and spend downtime reading cultural anthropology books. Spend as much time as possible out in the countryside or by the sea. Try and go out to watch plays, comedians, concerts as often as possible and love socialising, quizzes, bbqs, parties etc
DaveAngel Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 outside of work I am renovating my house so a lot of time over the last year has been spent stripping rooms, redecorating and laying carpet, fitting a shower room and kitchen, but recently I've spent way to much time helping to plan my wedding... what I really want to do is blow all my money messing around with my Golf GTi!

Smee Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Up until November I fostered dogs for a charity, assessing the dogs needs and temperament before he/she's re-homed. But my own GSD was diagnosed with CDRM and the stress of foster dogs makes the condition worse, he's just got a doggie wheelchair to keep him active and has hydrotherapy weekly so my spare time is pretty much wrapped up in him.

Reading, walking (usually to a pub...) with mates - sometimes we go away for a long weekend to the peaks / lakes etc. Model railway up in the loft, and currently finishing decorating the house!

Just the front garden and driveway and relaying the patio in back garden to go! gf also wants to turn the living room round which involves extending virgin cable by about 10-15 meters and building a corner shelf to hold the 50"tv as a unit wont work as radiator will be in the way. which then means that she wants the light switch in kitchen moved about 6" around a corner to accommodate a set of shelves from the living room where the tv will be going. Home ownership is a never ending list of jobs!!

sonofsanta Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Some of you lot do much more meaningful things in your spare time than I do in mine :/ Once the kids are abed and the maelstrom they leave behind is tidied, in order of time spent: Writing short fiction (SF/Fantasy) & reading lots Homebrewing, mostly wine (just drinking some very nice bramble) and occasionally beer when a party is planned LARP, in a local freeform group. One of my friends has an acre or so of land and has built an entire medieval tavern and a series of smaller huts. Photography, mostly of the kids these days (I <3 my 35mm prime lens) What little gaming I can squeeze in between all that Sadly, some hobbies have fallen by the wayside because at some point I do need to sleep, so I no longer fly in EVE Online, or game in Warhammer/40k, or snowboard (don't have the money for that anymore).
