Does anyone know if there is a way to report on Google Classroom usage. Now that all students are working at home SLT have asked if there is a way we can see how much engagement we get from the students.

AFAIK there is no built-in way to do this. -
We are in a residential area. No businesses or shops anywhere near us. I have asked the Premises team to get the electricians in to check.

Over the holidays one of our UPS units started alerting us that it was "Compensating for High Input Voltage" constantly. The unit has been working fine for a long time and has only just started this over the holidays. Would this be an issue with the UPS or the actual power that it is receiving? It is plugged into a normal 13Amp plug socket. Any ideas?

I know this is not an answer but did you not get the free Sims for schools from Vodafone? https://www.vodafone.co.uk/mobile/pay-as-you-go-plans/schools-connected

Do they not have other lessons that they need to be in school for or is Media their only subject? Do you have enough laptops to loan to the Media students, staff and provide for the students who have learning requirements in school that need laptops? I believe Students should be in School unless there is a reason, like self isolation, why they cant be in school. Should not be a choice really.

The only time we have loaned any equipment to students is when they have had to self isolate or if there is hardship which means they do not have a device and/or internet at home to enable them to work. This has normally been funded by Pupil Premium or the DfE scheme introduced during lockdown.

What did you use to run Stadia on?

Do you have a link please? I cant seem to see any for that price on CPC. You have the cheap flimsy ones for £1.45 and then it jumps to over £6 for more robust over the head ones.

Resurrecting this thread as I have a requirement to buy a pair of headphones per student for Y7 to Y9. No more sharing so need to give them a pair each. Any recommendations of ones you have used around the £5 per unit mark?

Our testing so far has been good. Unfortunately it looks like funding has been diverted this year so we won't be rolling out in 2021. If you are considering Cambium you can get hold of a free AP for evaluation purposes. https://www.cambiumnetworks.com/cnpilot-free-ap/

I think around £130 mark. I didnt buy a switch to go with them. There is no licencing and no renewal fee.

How are you sending the emails? We send to distribution lists of parental emails we have built in G Suite groups. Never had any issues with being flagged for spamming.
-
Take a look at Edulink if you haven't already. No charges for emails, video parents system built in and you can get 25000 texts for free by using the Gov Notify system in conjunction with Edulink.

We haven't rolled it out yet. Still in the testing phase. Only have 4 APs at the moment.
