There have been various threads about blended learning and video parents evenings so I wondered what cloud software has made life easier in your school during the current COVID situation we find ourselves in? I have seen mention of and used some of the those below but there may be others that would make life easier for Teaching Staff/Techs and Students. Can you provide links to the items you use please?
-
Yes. I always thought that was the case. You can only reuse the licence if you are replacing a broken Chromebook with the exact same make and model. Have things changed now?
-
How did you justify £5? We were told here that we could only charge the actual cost to replace, which for us worked out to £2 for card, holder, lanyard and printing cost. Having said that, we don't use customised Lanyards which might bump the cost up I guess.

I recently bought the Tado starter wireless pack on Amazon Prime Day. Very happy with it. No TRVs as I only wanted an easy way to control the heating and have different settings for weekdays and weekends. Very easy to install.

Have you looked at some of the online voting systems? https://www.choicevoting.co.uk/

In my Primary School I am a teacher in every Google Classroom permanently. I just switch off all notifications so I don't get any emails about posts etc. Being a member of every class allows quick resolution of any issues. I wouldn't do this at our Secondary as there are many more classes and we use GAM instead for there.

WSUS Server Clean Up Wizard Crashes - Reset server node?

That link doesn't seem to go anywhere. -
So there seems to be an "Enable Screen Sharing" extension for Chrome and a Mettl Secure Browser. Not sure which one we should be using.
-
We do exactly the same.

The problem is that SIMS does not include a category of "landline". To many people the "home" number is now their mobile so they are inputting it correctly. I agree SIMS is outdated but Edulink should be able to recognise a mobile number format regardless of if the location is set as mobile or home in SIMS. I have contacted Overnet Data and they are looking into it as a "bug" their end.
-
If in SIMS the parent has a mobile number but it is listed as "Home" under location in the SIMS Record then Edulink will not recognise it as a Mobile number for SMS purposes. Has anyone found this to be true? Many of our parents our now selecting their mobile numbers as their home numbers as they do not have a landline. If I change the location type in SIMS to "Mobile" then Edulink picks it up as a mobile number.

LGFL Adobe Creative Cloud Licenses (what's what?)...
fiza replied to Koldov's topic in Cloud Services
At our place only the Art Dept and Photography students use it so we asked the head of Art which apps she wanted and then created a package with those and deployed via PDQ. There is an MSI in the package so I guess you could use GPO to deploy. -
I thought the minimum number was 50 staff or 25% whichever is higher for enterprise licences?

We use Biostore ID points for this as we use Biostore for Cashless catering so already had the cards.

Just bought myself a Tado Starter Kit. Was hoping either this or the Nest would be on offer so happy days! Tado Starter Kit

Still split, each school does their own licencing but Central Services is a new entity.
-
*bump*

So we are a small MAT. Some staff have now gone to work for "Central Services" so work for the MAT and not the School. Where do we stand regarding MS licences for any devices we purchased for these staff?
-
If you already have G Suite then I don't think you can use the DfE scheme to get help to set up as it is for schools who are not yet set up to assign work and communicate with pupils.

How did you approach this with your Finance Dept? It seems to be set as a recurring payment each year. -
Says Chromebooks can be used. Might be the best way for us.

We have a few students doing Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing and have been told these will be on the Mercer Mettl platform. Has anyone used this, I assume it's all web based and no need for any downloaded clients?
