Did you find out if it was free for Chromebooks?

Currently we have an air con unit in the Server room which is really a little section of a room off an IT Room. The room has an air con unit which is the same as air con in the IT Rooms and is controlled centrally by the Premises Team. The unit struggles when temperatures rise and I am worried that we need a better air con system for the server room. The room has 3 racks, 1 for Core switching and 2 for servers. Any recommendations of brands and suppliers to approach for this?

We were already using Biostore for biometrics with Cunninghams so we didn't need to redo fingerprints. We are moving to RFID cards in Sept due to the covid situation so no one is touching fingerprint scanners anymore.

We are with LGfL and are fine here. We even have 3CX, admittedly hosted but the connection goes through the firewall without issue.

Does anyone know if the spec of the Chromebooks is good enough for student use in Secondary School?

Has anyone used or seen Classroom Zoom for reporting on engagement in Google Classroom? Being offered free at the moment. Have just applied for free access but wanted to see if anyone else has come across it. Got it sorted. It was the Wonde side I had to do something with.

Have you looked at Custom URLS under Company Profile in the Admin Console? You can add custom URLS in here so that for email the users can type or click on a link that is mail.schoolname.org.uk or similar. You set up the details with your Domain Host. If you set this up and then have a link where users lick on mail.schoolname.org.uk then the domain bit gets pre-populated. https://support.google.com/a/answer/53340?hl=en That's how we do it.

Any ideas what I need as a minimum? I have created a record with name, dob and employment start date. Record appears in current staff records but doesnt get pulled in by Wonde (which is our 3rd party app).

At our Primary School we use Wonde for SSO to Google. This works well but the only problem is with our generic Google accounts such as office@. Wonde will not recognise these as they don't link to users in SIMS. When it comes to SSO it fails as the Office@ does not correspond to a Wonde user from SIMS. Wonde have suggested to us that other schools create dummy accounts in SIMS that can then be matched to these generic accounts. Does anyone know if there are any consequences of doing this in SIMS or is it fine to do?

How do you stop students from joining Google Meets outside your domain please?

Never mind! Found that it's to do with the new separate Google Meet settings. Video calling was disabled in there for Staff. It was enabled in the Google Hangouts Meet Settings. Looks like the new settings take priority.

We are looking at using Google Meet with Year 12 students through Google Classroom. I am the Super Admin for the G Suite domain and If I add my self to a classroom I can see the "Generate Meet Link" option in the Google Classroom. When Teachers log in they cannot see the "Generate Meet Link". I cant see any settings that would prevent them from seeing it. Does anyone know why please?
