    So what happens after you specify the SMTP relay in your app settings. You can add the IP of where the app is hosted, i.e server ip and restrict to that range on the relay. Then submit message and check app log. Also drop in pickup and see if message goes out, if not, check smtp logs on relay server for reason.

    seems to be an issue with the recipients cache. They will have to delete as they may have this stored as a contact. check if they have th same results in owa/cached mode.

    if you do backups or have multiple copies then enable cirucular logging.

    you can't upgrade from 2003 to 2013 in the same Exchange Organisation. Try thr deployment assistant or get someone in if you're not too comfortable.
