I bought a batch of Unif AC-Pro Access points and they work fine. A month later I bought another set. These all work fine but on my map all of these new ones show a different signal strength to the previous lot. It's hard to explain but see the pic attached of a snippet of our school. The ones that are very bright red are the latest additions. One thing I do notice with these latest added AP's is that although they get adopted, it flashes up with an orange message but I cant seem to see it anymore. Apart from that they all work. Any ideas?

I'd re-install the last OS for the moment. Big Sur has plenty of problems at the moment. Wait a while.

Thanks for your reply. I don’t agree with paying constantly for something. I’d rather pay once and know it’s mine. This is for home, not school. CS6 maybe getting old now but it is still powerful software and does everything I need it to.

It will be the newer ones so the Apple Silicon Chip.

So I'm going to be getting a new Macbook soon and it will have Big Sur on it. Until now I've had Adobe CS6 running on Mojave. It wont run on anything higher than this and I dont wish to go down the Adobe subscription route. Would this work.... Mac Os Mojave on VirtualBox running on the Macbook with BigSur. It's the only way I can think of running it.

PS Finacials. Youll either love it or hate it. From feedback we've had its great for the auditors and finance but annoying for day to day office users to get to grips with.

Yes, these were taken at Kemble. Geeky I know, but I love aviation....I actually now have one of the window panels sitting on the wall in my study off one of these BA 747's.

I'm guessing it will depend on the hours and if they are end of life then they are scrapped. The fact they've been taken off first makes me think they have some value somewhere.

Thankyou. I'm doing the shoot at Dunsfold so hoping the weather will be good. Will report back on how it went.

Aircraft graveyard....The mighty BA 747's that will never fly again.

Apparently you can switch it over but I spent a good while trying to do that last night without success.... It constantly wanted me to sign in with a Microsoft Account. User is setup on Windows using a local account. Don't want a MS account. Kept reverting back to S Mode regardless of changing product keys, etc. Ended up doing a full re-install in the end to Win 10 Pro.

Where do I begin with this pile of manure! Anyone else encountered a machine with Windows 10 Mode S? Basically a stripped down version of Windows 10 where you can basically do burger all apart from give pleasure to Microsoft by signing up with a Microsoft account and being forced to only use the Microsoft app store. A user brought me one of these devices that had sadly been installed with mode S. You cant do anything with it. Cant even install your own software.

What do you use for customising your Windows10 install?

Cheers. Some good options to look at here. Have a good weekend all. -
We are a small school so not really big enough to need a deployment server. I'd like to create a customized Windows 10 installer that removes all the rubbish extras such as Candy Crush, Get Office, and any other apps we don't want. If it can also install our other pieces of software that would be great. Ideally something we can just boot from a USB stick and install. Can anyone recommend anything that works well? Many thanks.

Shirt and smart trousers most of the time. Used to have a tie but always got in the way. Then on days when no one is around or if working in ceilings etc then just casual jeans and T-Shirt.

Thankyou. The virtual switch is setup with a static IP and then the correct default gateway and dns. I was worried it relied on NIC1 (the actual physical NIC) therefore didn’t want to change anything on that?.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone could help. I’m trying to update a server. I’ve got two hyperV virtual servers and they all work fine. I’m trying to update the host machine which is not on the domain. I currently have NIC1 which is set to dhcp and then a virtual Ethernet switch for hyperV. Having a bit of a crazy day. So if I want to update the host machine do I just give the NIC1 a static IP with gateway and dns. Or will this cause issues to the virtual Ethernet switch? Thanks all.

Is the DC Virtual? I abandoned Windows Server Backup. My DC is in HyperV so just did an export of it. Much easier to bring back up.

Another recommendation for Unifi AC Pro's. I bought the POE License Key which just plugs into your POE port on switch. Manages everything from there in web interface. Reliable, good range, and no extra licenses to pay.

We have said that if a student is back in school, then they hand the laptop back in. I'm now using a set of 30 as a class set to replace our ageing iPads. Works perfect for children using Google Docs, Drive etc. I was looking at giving some to staff but they are quite slow machines and I dont want to be dealing with the complaints.

Hi all, Anyone know why I am getting printouts of a full black page when I print from an iPad? We use OPrint on our server to make our printers discoverable to the iPads and it has been working fine until now. Now, when we send to print to any of our printer the print job shows on the printer but then prints out as a full black page. No content on it, just an A4 page coloured black. Anyone know where the issue could be? The printers work fine when printing from a desktop. thanks.

I would look at Mosyle Manager.
