  1. Our Internet is dead this morning. Can’t get through to Connectivity/Speed issues tech support. Just rings busy tone.
  2. Can you not take the drive out and put it into a USB caddy and just hook it up to a PC.
  3. I looked into this and as far as I could see you needed to be a teacher of each class to be able to make changes which means having to put yourself in each one. I guess you could at the start of term create all the classes and add each teacher in too. Then you regain control of them but you'l receive all the notifications about assignments, students chatting, etc which is annoying so bare that in mind.
  4. If you don't use the certificate then you dont need to worry.
  5. We used this from the Department of Education: https://www.rpaclaimforms.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/RPA-Cyber-Response-Plan-Template-V1.0.pdf
  6. If you work in a school you can often blag yourself a Unidays account. Saved me loads of money.
  7. Thankyou. We have two FW5000's and two FW5230's. They do indeed print really fast and machines have plenty of features but the print quality is really washed out. Guess thats due to speed and also using Inkjet systems. We've been told the newer mahcines will be better print quality. Currently looking at our options to see if we stay or go.
  8. Anyone here with RISO?
  9. Yes, they have acknowledged there is an issue with this and are looking into it.
  10. That won't stop ads popping up during youtube videos.
  11. Sorry, Im not going to be much help, but I was in the same boat as you and in the end decided to leave RM and RMUnify as it was a PITA I went round and round in circles as you need to be an Office365 global admin to be able to change things and then you are stuck as then you cant get in due to RMUnify stopping you. There may be a better and quicker way to sort it but I certainly didnt find it.
  12. I think this is in fact where I've mixed things up. The hosts NIC is set to DHCP whilst the Virtual Servers ipv4 is setup with IP, subnet and gateway. What I will do is untick ipv4 on the virtual switch and give that IP address to the physical host's NIC. So long as I have LLDP & Hyper-V switch ticked in the virtual switch's properties then all should be ok I assume?
  13. Did you have to purchase a new license? And can you go straight from 2016 to 2022 or do you have to go via 2019? Thankyou.
  14. Hi, I've not done an upgrade from 2016 to 2022 before and wondered how best to go about it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? 1. Windows Server 2022 is showing in my Micorsoft Volume Licensing. Does this mean I can install or do I need to buy a different license as we purchased 2016? 2. Is it straighrforward to upgrade? Anything I should be aware of? Many thanks.
  15. That would be great. Thankyou.
  16. Thanks everyone for your replies so far. So there shouldn’t be a gateway set on the virtual switch? I don’t want to mess anything up as at the moment both hyper v virtual servers are connecting to the internet fine. But I do need to sort out the host somehow so it too can connect to the internet.
  17. Nope, no VLANS. Small Primary school with just one host machine running a domain controller VM and Sims VM in HyperV.
  18. Thanks mavhc. This is what I get on the host's ipconfig: Ethernet Adapter NIC1: ipv4 address: 10.2.160.2 Subnet mask: 255.255.252.0 Default gateway: - Ethernet adapter vEthernet (Virtual_switch_1) Autoconfiguration IPv4 address: 169.254.189.169 Subnet mask: 255.255.0.0 Default gateway: 10.2.160.1
  19. Hi, I'm hoing someone can point me in the right direction... So I have my domain controller and Sims server as HyperV servers. These connect to the Internet via a virtual switch in HyperV, which uses the Host machines NIC. These virtual servers connect to the domain and the Internet works fine. What do you guys do with your host machine? Do you have it connected to the domain as well or leave it off domain? I have always kept it off domain. The problem I am having is getting the host updated with updates. NIC1 on the host machine is set to DHCP. If I try to change the hosts NIC1 to a static IP with correct default gateway and DNS I get a message saying "Warning- Multiple default gateways are intended to provide redundancy to a single network. They will not function properly when the gateways are on two seperate disjoint networks". What is the best thing to do here? Many thanks.
  20. Definately get a guest Wifi network setup with network isolation. Do not put on same network as the admin/domain etc or rest of school.
  21. Hi everyone, So even though I told teachers to check who’s allowed on the photography and video list a student still managed to get filmed. I need to block them out. Until now I’ve been using iMovie and ‘Picture in Picture’ with a black square that just hovers over the student. Is there a better way or other software that can blur a face better. Many thanks all.
  22. So file shares are easy to take to the cloud but how are you guys doing printing?
  23. Thankyou everyone. I have signed in to ASM and signed the agreement. Will do some testing today and see how things go.
  24. No error messages. My setup process is from Apple Configurator 2: Send the Wifi settings profile to the iPad. Then select to Prepare device and it enrols them on to the Mosyle MDM. You then get a promot on the iPad to apply the remote management and it goes and does it's thing which normally is adding all the relavant apps. They will show up in Mosyle Manager so they are being added, they just dont start setting themselves up. My other iPads work fine.
