Hi, I'm trying to setup my iPads and can get the Wifi profile on them fine, however when I go to prepare the iPads so they join our Mosyle MDM as supervised devices, it will not work for devices with ios 14 or higher. It will show the Mosyle management has been installed in the iPads settings but unlike the other iPads, it won't start downloading apps and setting up the iPad as it should. Anyone else had this or know a worksaround? Thankyou.

I found they are great for Porteus Kiosk. Boots straight to Google Chrome and can be setup to clear all settings when turned off so none of my users are left logged in to google drive.

I've been asked whether when guests want to use our guest wifi then they could just scan a QR code. Upon googling I see many QR Code makers including this one: https://www.qr-code-generator.com/solutions/wifi-qr-code/ So this would let a user scan the QR code and get onto our Wifi. Can anyone see anything wrong with this or any security issues? From what I see it simply generates a QR code with SSID, and password. What do you think?? Thanks.

Whatever you decide, make sure you replace the shiny lovely keyboards and mice with standard ones as they'll either get stolen or keys ripped off, damaged etc.

All I've had to do is press F12 and then choose " Change Boot Mode settings" and put them into EUFI Boot Mode, Secure Boot Off.

Unfortunately our IP phone doesnt have Wifi, but would have been great if it had. Going to test out the 2nd port of the AC Pro today. As the phones are 10/100 I want to check as it is possible it could halve the speed of the access point.

Hi, We have an old part of the shool buildings which is not easy to get IT cabling to and there is just one network point in the ceiling that feeds a Unifi AC Pro Access Point. I'm needing to add an IP phone in there and wondered if I could use the extra network port on the AC Pro to plug in the IP Phone. I already have a power socket so won't need POE, just data. Would this work? Thanks.

It's mostly when watching youtube videos that it gets annoying. On a PC I use AdblockPlus and that stops ads coming up in youtube videos.

Tell them that equipment gets regular security updates at night and it would be a security risk to turn equipment off.

I’m trying to work out why a friend of mine is losing his Internet connection every 10 days or so. The setup is a little complicated as there is no quick way to the router from the office. It is setup like this: 1. Virgin Internet Router downstairs. 2. Old BT WiFi Access points dotted round the house, now used to help with wifi. 3. One of these BT wifi access points has a spare LAN Port on the back so this is used to give us a physical network point in the office to connect a Ubiquiti Edge router. 4. Edge router is setup with its own network 5. Windows Server with domain controller is plugged into Edge Router. 6. Network Switch is also plugged into edge router. 7. Workstations are plugged into switch. Long winded but it works. Problem is every 10 days or so (no set days or time) the Internet will stop working on the workstations and server. Access to file shares continues to work fine. I end up having to shut everything down and rebooting everything one by one in the order above. Except the Virgin router. That’s fine. It’s then stable for days and then internet stops. Any ideas? Thankyou.

Exactly the same here. Was on a fixed rate 1 year tariff and it has now ended. You will be automatically moved over to the standard variable rate tariff. You shouldnt be tied into anything so if you want to later secure a new deal or move then there should be no penalty. But like you the cheapest fixed deal is more or less double what I was paying on my last fixed tariff. According to expert Martin Lewis, the advice is to go on to the variable tariff for the time being until hopefully things improve and there are better deals...though this doesnt look like it's happening any time soon. If you find a fixed tariff that is less than 50% more than what you were currently paying then it may be better going with that as who knows if it could increase even more!

Can you not set the device to log out all accounts or delete all saved browsing history, logins, cookies etc when shutdown?

I need to do a DB upgrade and there is always someone somewhere still logged in. What is the best way I can chuck everyone out and keep them out whilst I do a Database upgrade? Thankyou.

Thankyou. Just realised I was looking on the Apple site, no wonder STM cases were expensive at £59 each. As you mention, I've now seen therm at just over £20 which is a lot better. Will take a look at the Nutcases too.

Hi, We've just received some iPads from the government scheme (Standard iPad, 9th Gen) and they are great but I'm needing some good protection for them. We useed to use STM Dux cases but they are quite expensive. What are you all using and recommend? Many thanks.
