I am unaware of the original thinking behind the two separate networks. I can see no special configuration other than trying to keep the curriculum network completely separate (physically) from the VOIP network. All network cables go back to the same network cupboard which is where all the switches are and the Huawei Router. From the looks of it, the school used to have an IT suite and both unmanaged Cisco routers were connected to feed the whole school the curriculum network. Then at some point, the school has got rid of the IT suite and added a VOIP network and simply split the Cisco switches, used one for the VOIP network and the other for the curriculum network. They got rid of the suite so this feed up 10's of network cables as they no longer go to network points, they are just cut and left hanging. I guess they then requested another IP range and got that mapped to port 2 of the Huawei router as no other device in the school is on that IP range. If I move a VOIP phone onto the curriculum network then it does not work as the phone system is using ports and IP's that are blocked. I believe the VOIP network is completely unfiltered as no proxy settings are in the phones. I can route my own cable to the rooms but I am very bad at home DIY and the school is very tight on money to employ a company to add more network points. I had hopped I could just join both networks and then no extra money would need to be spent as the basic infrastructure is already in place, its just being used in a strange way lol. The only item I do not know the setting of, is the Huawei router. All of the other switches in the school are on default settings (or are unmanaged) and no VLAN's setup etc. I just don't know what I need to do to combine the networks and still have the curriculum network and VOIP network play nicely together.

Its a small network. the VOIP and curriculum networks are running on different subnets and use different gateways. I don't know anything about connecting two physically separate networks together that use different subnets and have it all play nicely. I can connect Port 1 and 2 of the huawei router into the same switch as both networks stop working then (In tried this). Sorry I am a complete noob to this, it might be super simple to others but I just don't have the experience to sort this out.

Hi All, I have inherited a local school but I am having troubles working out the setup of the network. There seems to be 2 different physical networks, each separated using different switches and a different port on the Huawei AR120 router. They are on different subnets too. Port 1 on the Huawei Router is a curriculum network where the main server (Server 2016 STD) is that runs DHCP, DNS, Active directory. This is distributed via an unmanaged Cisco SR2024C switch around the school. Connected into the unmanaged Cisco switch is a managed Netgear GS728TP switch which runs POE to the Ruckus Cloud Wi-Fi AP’s. The other physical network in the school is the VOIP network on a different subnet to the curriculum network, this is plugged into port 2 of the Huawei AR120 router. All the phones are using static IP’s What I would like to happen… Have both the physical networks connected so that I can utilise the network cables going into remote rooms around the school that are currently dedicated to the VOIP network, I want to use the cables for both networks. For example, the kitchen uses a ‘Live kitchen’ system which is in a location that is not covered by the Wi-Fi network so that it needs to be connected via a network cable, but the kitchen only has one network cable routed into there and this is currently being used by the VOIP network. I can physically move that network cable and plug it into the curriculum network for the ‘Live kitchen’ system but then they won’t have a VOIP phone in there. So, what I want to do is use that one cable and have both the VOIP phone and ‘Live kitchen’ system running. (The VOIP phones have 2 network ports, in and out, so I can use that as a hub to connect to the ‘Live kitchen’ system) Another example, there is a classroom where the teacher sits in a Wi-Fi dead spot, the network cable going to that room is being used for the VOIP phone, if I could use this cable then I could add a small standalone Wi-Fi AP in there and still use the VOIP phone. Basically, I want to re-connect the school so that all network cables around the school are on the same physical network but be able to run the curriculum network and VOIP network side by side so that I can utilise every cable in the school rather than having the cables dedicated to either curriculum network or VOIP network exclusively. I assume I would need to setup VLAN’s to handle this but I have no idea where to start there. Would I need to upgrade the current Cisco SR2024 switches to managed ones to sort this or can I use the equipment already in place to achieve what I want? Both networks use the same external DNS server from SWGFL. The school has very little money so purchasing equipment might take a while if we need anything extra. Please let me know if you need any more information or I have not given the right details. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how I achieve this or know of a good guide I can follow. Thank you for your help and information. Oh dear this does sound a bit complicated. To make changes on the Google services side, I found an account that allowed me access to the Admin centre, so I created a different username for myself (different to the RM Unify username I was given) with super admin rights which allows me to make changes there, I had hoped to make the same changes with Office365 but no account I can access has the right permissions to access the O365 AdminCentre. So I guess my question now is.... should there be a user that still has access to the O365 Admin centre using their RM Unify username? so that I can get them to login and create me a new user with Global admin rights, or is there a way I can contact Microsoft to give me the correct permissions (with me proving my identity and right to access the system etc)?

Hi All, I have taken on a couple of local schools that are federated and use RM Unify for their SSO of Office365 and Google Services. I only have experience with Office365 and Google services as stand alone products, so I have a few questions about how to administer things when RM Unify is involved. The office staff have set me up with 'Super admin rights' via RM Unify but I don't seem to be able to access the Office 365 Admin Centre to change some mail flow rules in exchange. Am I right in thinking before the school moved over to RM Unify that they had a Global administrator account on Office365 that I would need to gain access too to give my user account the rights to use the Office365 Admin Centre? Or is there some way I can edit my account in RM unify that will then grant me access to the Admin Centre? currently when I try and go to the Admin Centre I get a message saying I do not have the correct permissions. I hope that made to sense. Please let me know if you need any more information Thank you in advance

@FragglePete thank you for the heads up @Timetable These do look like good drones. They are both quite dated now, the smaller 'Flamewheel' drone looks to have a DJI Naza FC with Compass and GPS, this will allow position hold and easy control just like a DJI Phantom. It also has a camera gimbal on the bottom, these are quite cheap if using 8bit software (£20-40). That drone is worth £100 all day long so if you can get anything above that then you have got a good deal. The larger Hex is a bit more special, it looks like a DJI S800, its using a WooKong FC which is a serious bit of kit, this will allow full autonomy for waypoints and flight paths (lacks obstacle avoidance), I'm not sure what model its using or the age but these FC's alone are worth £400+ new (£600+ for the latest model). This drone is a lot harder to give a price on without closer inspection but you would be safe with a price over £250 for sure. For a future purchase, take a look at the DJI Mini 2 or similar, avoid Parrot drones as they are no where near as well build/designed as the DJI one. Out of the box the mini2 will create movie quality shots with very little knowledge/training. Sorry I couldn't give more details or help but these drones are in a different class to the type of drone I build and fly. P.S The S800 looks to have a Spektrum RC Rx with satellite receiver (I can only see the satellite Rx so the main Rx must be within the body or on a leg. Seeing that RX on the S800 it might stand to reason the Flamewheel also has a Spektrum Rx. These receivers themselves are worth some money on their own (£40+)

Myself and SliderFPV from Droneislife.co.uk got the awesome opportunity to chase the amazing Plymouth Devils Speedway team around their track on a practice day. The mud and dust was a challenge for the quads in the air, after landing you could see wear on the props where they had been pelted by rocks and fine dust but the Gemfan Windancer props were more than up for the job. Hi All, First long range test with the new Gemfan Hulkie 5055 props, the quad was tuned for Gemfan Windancer props but it still loved these new Hulkie's just as much. The pure speed and grip of these props is amazing and suggest anyone who has not tried them yet to give them a go. This flight is from the very bottom of a tor all the way to the top. Beautiful sunny day but the wind was strong going from left to right near the peak but this didn't produce too much jello or trouble to the quad.
