Schools Broadband Internet Issues
cullingsh replied to JazzFlute's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
I think - 'Best Rural ISP' as everyone is getting the same quality connection as if they were in the countryside. I think - 'Best Security & Consumer Protection' as the connection is lovely and secure. No naughty content making it through if the service doesn't work. Perhaps this - 'Best Voice Provider' - our office staff do like it when the phones don't ring, nice and quiet. Definitely this - 'Best Infrastructure Innovation' - I don't think it needs an explanation, but for the justification field - changes are constantly being made with little info to the end user until we find things don't work - ie reports in Netsweeper - router config changed overnight and then the rest of the week has issues - replacement customer routers sent out with all the config on, with 1/2 of it missing And, just for giggles, this one 'Best Customer Experience' - Assuming no justification box required. -

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - 2 schools affected. Today. All of them. That's a pretty big subset. -
AB Tutor - changes to perpetual licence - notice
cullingsh replied to 3s-gtech's topic in Network and Classroom Management
We have had this email as well. I do get it as the license server is hosted by them. But then, that was part and parcel of what we purchased and shouldn't be on us to now start funding this. If the system is too expensive to maintain then removing the online activation element would work well for both sides. We have v9 at one school and it's OK, now. Took a lot of working with the company to make it work properly. We have also trialed V10, twice, but it doesn't work the same or for most of our use case. -
This is what we did last week, rather than create huge, slow, backups, and kick everyone out of SIMS in all of our schools. And how we are doing it this week. Again.

That does actually look really good.

Schoolsbroadband, speed issues, connectivity?

No issues at our sites today -
You sure? That seems somewhat over-spec'd

So, loosely translated, RFO may or may not appear at some point to some people. No indication of an issue on the hub at the time, ringing in was greeted with busy tone. Another week with more performance issues and it's only Tuesday. Hopefully the rest of the week will be ok... -

We are still having issues. Things are ok for a bit then nosedive and pages won't load. We've had several issues reported this morning. Our switch monitoring (Aruba instant on) has emailed that sites are offline as it can't see the switches any more, the DfE signin page doesn't load properly, a SolarPV management system which we have just received login details for also won't load. I am assuming these are all related to the same issue. 1st line support have been contacted a number of times and I can't get further than that. -
We have a number of websites not working across a number of schools. Every time I ring, I get a naff holding statement, same as the on the hub - currently 'a fix will be implemented in 72 hours'. Vague, and doesn't help us or those we relay the same information to. Trying to speak to someone other than frontline support gets no-where.

Have you enabled the Deny filter? In Microsoft DHCP management, go to the filters tab, deny list - right click and select enable?
