  1. So, I'm looking at both of these, and have had demos of both. Does anyone have any experience of both, or either of these? Specific models are: BLOXX - 1250E Barracuda - 400Vx (virtual appliance) Any comments would be appreciated..
  2. Just installed on my Galaxy Note, and working great. Nice one chaps.

    Snow!

We're closing at 2.. doesn't really seem that bad at the moment, but I guess some of the coaches have a long way to go, so better safe than sorry. It's expected to get worse yet, so there is wisdom in the decision.
  4. We provide access to SIMS via Citrix to our prep and also the pre-prep school, all running Apple kit.. Also to Art and Music here, who are all Apple. Probably not the cheapest option, but certainly reliable.
  5. Sorry - have been busy and sick.. will sort this out tomorrow.
  6. Sorry - couldn't resist.. "The detailed timing functions of Poweroff really let a person fondle admiringly." Um.. yes.. you realise this is a site for schools, right?
  7. Here, the entire server room is on a UPS (not individual servers - a full room solution) - this means the core switches are also protected. Also, the switch in the Bursary, and all admin machines have individual UPS's installed - as does the switchboard. This gives the admin team sufficent time to sort out anything they may need to during an outage. Generally, we can last through up to 30 minutes in the Bursary area.
  8. No - vast majority went to the scrapheap. Some were taken.. might have some DL360G5's if you are interested - recently decommisioned. Let me know if you want specs etc.
  9. Basically what @MatthewL and @glen_j said.. if there are personal mails, we show them how to forward on (if necessary), but that's as far as it goes.
  10. Me. For everything.
  11. Have you tried restting winsock and TCP stack? netsh winsock reset catalog netsh int ip reset reset.log hit
  12. I've been told I should bever have kids. I have certain criteria that need to be met, or I won't be interested in the child.. it would have to be a girl, called Kayleigh (I like the song), be very girly, intelligent and interested in the same things I am. She would also have to speak English properly - I don't like text speak, or the latest "fad speak" that happens to be going around. I'm not interested in a boy, or football. Apparantly this would make me a bad parent. Oh, and I'm always worried that my adult friends will break something in my flat.. god knows what I'd be like with a child thundering around - probably a nervous wreck.
  13. Just out of interest, what scripts do you run for this? We're using BLOXX here, and don't need to run anything - it's all managed on the console.
  14. Create one iPad as you would like it, and use the Configurator to make a backup of it. Then restore that backup to the other 29 using the Configurator. This retains your folder settings.
  15. Another fund to start then... how cool is that? (Am I sad?)
  16. Lots of people saying this, but it's been confirmed that the flags were "slippery surface" flags, NOT "yellow flags". Anyway - good race! http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1/news/12475/8282398/Race-stewards-insist-that-Sebastian-Vettel-overtake-was-made-under-yellow-red-flags
  17. Upgraded recently from my MG ZT-T, to a 2007 Chrysler 300c (V8, 5.7L). I do very little mileage really, and it's all for pleasure, so the low mpg doesn't bother me..
  18. Didn't really seem to make any difference.. both sides seemed equally quick to be honest.

    New laptops

R60/61's weren't that great - constant issues with hinges snapping with no provocation, no other damage, just open lid and snap. Utter garbage. We just renewed our entire staff laptop fleet (200 machines), and went for HP Probooks (6465b's) - much better quality.
  20. Two Androids here - O2 signal is noticeably worse here over the last few weeks. I regularly have no signal at work now, whereas it used to be pretty good.
  21. Think we've used one of the 115's on reflection - but everything else is here.
  22. Surprisingly, I still have them all. Feel free to visit and relieve me of some/any/all.
  23. We also use that. It's been great so far, and one less thing my dept has to worry about. Bonus!
  24. Older Panasonic ToughBooks come in at reasonable prices. Bought one recently for our Grounds that was about £400. Still running on XP, but performance is just fine. To be honest, if you don't want to compromise on performance, then there is very little in the price range (that a normal school would consider justifiable), that will survive many attempts at willful destruction like this...
  25. Just turn off wireless and 3G whilst playing. No internet connection, no ads. Sorted.
