We have the Uno-cart 32.. expensive, and a pain to plug in all the iPads, but what can you do? Not like there is a wide range of products that are available right now. This one seems failry cheap, but obviously not on wheels, with no locks anywhere, so the Uno-cart still wins.

.. to make up a triple screen system. Would anyone have one laying around that I could acquire?

Ok, some answers: 3rd party involved, as some of the knowledge required is outside my field, so we want to make sure we get what's expected. Nearest rail station is probably about a mile I guess (Hampton) Bing Maps - Wegbeschreibungen, Routen, Verkehr Deputy is next in chain, so would cover for my absence. As for specifics, if you can cope with HP ProCurves, then the Aruba switches probably wouldn't be too taxing - GUI's and command line access is fairly standard.

We use XP with no profiles here. Had huge problems with profiles on roaming before, and none at all now (obviously). Doesn't seem to affect login speed really, although we use VDI here (XenDesk) so the desktops are pretty quick anyway.

I'm having this issue with BLOXX as well - despite entering known good credentials into the iPad proxy settings, it just keeps asking. Very irritating, and means for the moment at least, the iPads are unfiltered - teacher discretion and attention is required. Luckily, it's just a single trolley of iPads (27), so it's not too onerous. I'm told it's a bug in iOS 4.3.5, and that the same bug remains in iOS 5... Hope it's fixed. Apparantly it just ignores the settings in there.

Nope. It's a slight re-organisation into front of house, and back office roles, and a more plannning and server side role for me. The three already here will be front of house, this new role will be switches and servers mostly, with planning and project input with myself. We'll both do support for back-end systems.

This would make it 5. One is Apple only, and spread across three sites. One is a junior role, mostly for printer/projector/basic support. Then a general front of house guy, and myself.

Milestone XProtect here, with AXIS cameras.. got around 70, all running on 21 days archiving, on two 4Tb arrays attached to the server(s). Good performance, easy interface. Should come in under your budget easily with only 20 cameras.

The more you have on the same channel, the more interference you wil get. Try to keep adjacent AP's on different channels if you are managing them manually.

A position is arising in my team for an experienced network engineer (we run HP ProCurves), who can also manage wireless (Aruba System), and also has a wide experience of Windows Server. We are a VMWare house, with XenApp and XenDesk, so familiarity with these technologies is desireable. This will make the IT Team up to 5 - myself, 2 techs, and an Apple specialist are already here. This position will be vital to the running of the school, so applicants should be professional with a helpful attitude, and should be flexible with regard to hours. A full job spec will be available shortly, which will likley contain additional items I have forgotten at this point! Interviews will be professional, with a third party involved who is highly technical (no tyre kickers need apply).

Sorry - completely missed the host-only bit. I don't see any way of doing what you want - is there a particular reason it's host-only?

This is one of our older core switches. It's a 5308xl chassis switch, with 8 module bays. It's currently populated with 4 fibre ports (mini Gbics required), twelve 1Gb ports, and ninety-six 10/100 ports. In addition, there are two additional 4-port fibre modules, and two 24-port 10/100 modules if you need alternative configurations. It also has redundant PSU's installed. This switch has been the core of our network for several years now, and still works perfectly - we've just upgraded to newer (slimmer!) switches to make the server racks more efficient.
