  1. Still looking - make a new start in the new term!

  3. I was up that way recently, but I'm not sure it would have fit very well in my little convertible!
  4. Needed for some upcoming projects, and as we all know - budgets are ridiculously tight now. Second-hand units are fine! Anyone? Berkshire area preferred, as could collect and get it out of your way!
  5. This one - always easier to keep track of and disable. A little more work to start with perhaps, but not a lot.
  6. https://www.slougheton.com/vacancies/non-teaching-posts Web site management, online resource management, audio-visual responsibility and general (basic) IT duties including helpdesk administration. We are s small team, supporting a multi-academy trust of 5 schools.
  7. Apologies for the delay - it's been a bit crazy here. PM sent.
  8. I have acquired a decommissioned data centre recently and it would be nice to get all the bits lying around the office into a rack if only to move it more easily while we refurb the servers and switches! There are several HP servers, so looking for 900/1000 mm deep really, and definitely on wheels. Got anything you no longer need? We are based in Slough. Thanks, Ian.
  9. Loks useful, but agree with AButters. The first thing that goes through my mind is whether they can get a refund for their unauthorised device that isn't plugging into my network. Departments do not buy any hardware without my input, or it doesn't get done. Wish we could say the same for software though - that's a different ball game altogether!
  10. No, but it will be uploaded again shortly - it's getting a small revision.
  11. Quick boost - still looking to fill this position, so I am extending the deadline. Please point anyone who is interested in the position at me!
  12. Slough and East Berkshire Multi-academy Trust is looking to recruit an IT Technician. Closes 22nd February 2019 Details in the link below: https://www.slougheton.com/vacancies/non-teaching-posts
  13. Glad it's not just me! The only difference is that when I look in "About this Mac", it does actually say "10.13.3" - it just keeps coming back up again as an update anyway.
  14. Morning all, Irritating issue here - have a Mac Mini running High Sierra (which wouldn't install on the mirror, but that's another story!), which is saying that Supplemental Update 10.13.3 needs installing. The problem is, I have - several times now. It gets installed, then a short time after rebooting it says there was an installation error, and asks for it again. Or it doesn't say there was an error at all but just indicated that the update still needs doing. I have a Carbon Copy clone of the boot disk (which is a mirror on the Mini), and I have tried to do it on this one as well in case it was a RAID install error (the High Sierra update wouldn't install on the RAID mirror, so I had to CC it on to an external HDD and do it there, then clone it back), but it doesn't matter which disk it boots from, it just won't seem to install the update properly. Any ideas? Can't find anything similar on t'interweb at the moment..
  15. This is mine.. she's called Zara..
  16. It's starting at South Mimms, direction I am unsure of yet. Knowing my luck, it'll be a snowstorm.
  17. It's possible, although we're hoping that it'll be only a couple of hours!
  18. I, along with many other MG convertible owners from different clubs, will be driving a complete lap of the M25, at 10.30pm on 20th February 2016, whatever the weather, with the roof down. This is in support of UK Homes for Heroes, who are a small charity that helps homeless ex service personnel of which there are an estimated 4,500 currently in the UK. The roof down part is, in some small way, to show the conditions that these people have to live in every night – especially at this time of year when it is cold, windy and wet. This is now an annual event, and one of the small ways that I can show gratitude for the part they have played in keeping us safe, and, hopefully, get at least some of them a roof over their heads. My page is here: https://www.justgiving.com/Ian-Trevena I and the people I am supporting thank you for any donation you can make. Thank you.

  20. Exodus - Gods and Kings... meh.. there were a few leaps in time which were confusing if you didn't realise. I actually think the original version was better.
