  1. There isn't enough damage for it to be recorded. Therefore, you don't have to declare what is, essentially, a minor shunt. Don't want to trivialise your accident, but just pointing out that in the grand scheme of things, it's nothing to worry about on a resale basis. Just make sure they do a decent spray job when they repair it. Check for overspray and slight colour mismatches.
  2. Samsung Galaxy S5 for personal use, and a Nokia 635 for work (surprisingly good).
  3. I'm all booked up for Spa this year.. camera ready, along with Admirals fold up chair etc..
  4. Laptop & iPad provided for each academic staff member - no fixed PC in classrooms (some in Staff/Quiet Room).
  5. Unfortunately, the "simple fix" for this is either VLANs or a relatively expensive upgrade solution with Aruba (they have a product for dealing with Bonjour, but I forget what it's called, and it is quite a few quid).
  6. We were Aruba for many years - rock solid kit, and almost flawless performance. I would have no issues recommending it. It was so reliable, that I didn't actually look at two whole revisions of firmware after they were installed - it never went wrong, so I didn't need to. For a bit of perspective, I think abillybob has issues which would have affected ANY wireless system in that situation. We also saw it here with our Aruba. Anyway - not particlularly relevant other than to say it's not specifically an Aruba issue!
  7. Less than that will do it. Bonjour is absolutely your problem here.
  8. We use BitLocker with the laptops TPM (we bought specifically with this in mind) with Win 7 Enterprise installed.
  9. You need to go manual, set focus to area, and take it out to at least f8 I would have thought. On auto, most cameras will try and get the best shot of what you are focussed on - to the exclusion of all else. The only thing that will be in focus will be anything that is in the same focal plane.

Most definitely not the only one. CL were, until recently, absolutely appalling. We had excuses along the lines of "couldn't gain entry", "premises closed" (that was a term time Wednesday) etc etc. I think we have (had?), one of their better drivers for the last 6 months. Prior to that, I actually binned a supplier because they wouldn't use anyone except CL. Big mistake.. (££££'s).
  11. With a little digging on t'interweb, you can still get them!
  12. An old Canon laptop with a built-in bubble jet printer...
  13. How many iPads / Apple TV's do you have? This is quite likely to be a broadcast issue if you are not managing he Bonjour protocol in any way...
  14. This. There is no such thing as too careful with other peoples data.
  15. Sadly, this is the best thing I've heard since the start of the summer term.
  16. Unlimited for staff here, and they are currently up to 3.2 Terrabytes..
  17. It doesn't state anywhere if this machine is 64 or 32-bit. If it's got 3Gb, then it's probably 32-bit, so no point in adding RAM there. If he's having trouble uploading, then the given upload speed of less than 1Mb is the most likely culprit I would suggest.
  18. I have just over 40 of these that we no longer need. Is anyone interested in them? Happy to swap for something interesting (and our idea of interesting is quite broad!). Failing that, some slabs of Pepsi Max Cherry will also see them in a new home (quantity to be discussed)....
  19. We've set up multiple groups for that... so we have a 'mail_all', 'academic_staff' and a 'support_staff' mailing list. Again, only nominated individuals can post to these..
  20. We also look after a prep school, and a pre-prep school (both Apple based).
  21. Nasty.. need some elbow room! Screens are 50" and were surprisingly cheap - £400 each at the time I bought them.
  22. We have just under 1300 pupils and 200(ish) staff at this site.
  23. Phone is a higher end Splicecom phone (IP phone network)
  24. One runs HP Procurve Manager, one Solarwinds, and the last one is Citrix Director.
