Not everything to the remote azure server, but I have often though of offloading the SQL to a database instance on Azure and running it through there, as the main need is always SQL on the servers (from what I can see)

If it is a few, I would recommend doing them yourself, for a Third account. As then you can use that third account to transfer stuff if a teacher changes part way through they year, and your main account will not end up full of emails for notifications for the classrooms.

We use Edulink One and the results will be available there. But we also have the SIMS InTouch Module which can email out the exam results, so we are doing that too (thanks to salamanders add on of SIMS Write back all the students email addresses are in SIMS)

I don't think it is done in NT6 itself, the times are defined by the cycle exported from Nova to SIMS and it is SIMS that uses the times not NT6.

Now just to check, your remote app server does have a default printer mapped, I seemed to remember that if there is no default Printer FMS can refuse to load

Check the shortcut for sure. FMS should run Finance.exe and not FMSLoad.exe first.

Didn't move from Parent App, but do have Edulink One. Have you got your SMTP setting in the communicator tool? Once the communicator tool is setup and sending emails fine you can go into the logon screen and mass mail a welcome email to all parents. It sends them an email with theirs Username, a link to set their password and links to the apps. We did modify ours slightly (I am sure I did that in the logon screen) to include the School ID, just to make things easier. Literally clicked the mail button at the bottom of the logon screen (after loading user accounts) and just sent them out. We did send a letter first to say this would be happening and what account it will come from. Also, Welcome to edulink we love it here at our place

That is from those reports, where you are listing students names Let me see if I can find my original report if you need it If you wanted just the teachers details for the classes, I would personally get that from the classes screen in Nova T6 let me know if you need me to dig out the original report

There is a way to do this built into SIMS now, but it does do it with Staff initials rather than full name, but shows you has them each period on the timetable Step 1 - go to Reports > Students Lists > Class Lists Step 2 - filter your class list with the options on the right, you have to double click those Step 3 - Select the export button at the top right Step 4 - Make sure you include Period Information Step 5 select whether you want it to open in Excel or as HTML Done

Take a backup, cannot stress that enough (if you are using HyperV, make a checkpoint) Make sure you have the specific version of Java on the Unifi Website (it may be the version you are using) Try Upgrading it, it should work.

As another school that was in BSF, we had a 1gbps backbone and 100mbos to client. I replaced all of our stuff with Unifi kit, switches the lot, now there is 1gbps to client, and a 10gbps backbone, with a HP Aruba for intervlan Routing.

So as a young pup I moved at 7 from a school with 1 BBC Basic that only year 6 had access to over to a different area of the town where the Infants school had 3 RM Nimbus machines in the classroom, and I had to learn from scratch, as I had no experience (couldn't even get my head around holding down shift and letter to get a capital, until someone showed me you had to hold it) went to the Juniors (they hadn't merged into a combined primary by that point) and they has 1 RM Nimbus and 1 BBC Basic per classroom, I was amazed with them, and by the end of Year 3 was quite taken away with them. I then moved to secondary school, had a windows 3.11 RM network, windows was new and shiny and I may have been messing around with Access macros at that point to change the Program manager to the staff one and get to solitaire etc. That secondary school got shut down and I moved to another one, that had various different OSs and networks, IT had one room of 3.11 machines and one of Nimbuses, DT had a different network, then so did humanities and English. By the time I got to year 10 they had combined everything to a RM network running windows 95 clients (even though 98 was out by then) and I got a hand me down IBM Aptiva running windows 95 at home from my uncle and auntie. I was amazed, tinkering, learning hardware changes etc. Then we got a serial v90 external modem and I was online and learning more. by the end of Sixth form and a couple of exclusions for changing proxys settings, editing things etc (never learnt to keep my nose in) I took a shot and applied for a job as an IT Technician at the local Grammar School that had just got the Computing and Maths specialism and was the first time they were expanding to more than one technician and building ICT Suites and changing things as needed. I got to learn trial by fire with 2000 servers and a mix of 2000 and XP machines that crashed fully in 3 months and had to have a rebuild and learnt on the go. Moved after 4 1/2 years to the school I am at now as an IT Technician, withing 9 months (when BSF TUPEs were happening) I was transferred to a new jobs as a SIMS and Timetable Manager but still have oversight of the ICT Contract of BSF and to deal with issues and push them for innovation (ha). Couple of years later the LA Pulls the ICT Contract (and we lost a lot of money over that) and then we moved to having a contract direct with the MSP, was OK but we had to save even more money so all my SIMS and Timetable stuff got allocated back out to other staff and I went back into ICT directly and took control as Network Manager and have been pushing and changing things ever since. (Still wish I could format this domain and start again though)

I do believe so, never had any moaning from anyone. I do believe the look at the staff timetables and use the name of the class rather than look at the class and then teacher.

I assume 2004 is a typo. I think we are a long way off from students being able to use linux for everything the require in school but we do use a linux XRDP server for them to remote onto in GCSE Computing where they can use the environment and edit basic stuff.
