install yawcam. enable the streaming feature. navigate to http:// computername:8080 this is usually the port number but you can configure this in the settings. Ive used it here to show some building work that's happening.

I used a script at my old school. Installed on one computer manually, saved the installation settings, then the script looked for the default installation folder, if it wasnt there it called the install with the install settings and a silent switch. Not sure about the icon in the notification area but you could add a reg hack in the script.

get a copy of yawcam. It allows you to load usb webcam into a web page. On your home router, forward port 80 to your pc's ip address (may have to set it statically). Then register with a dynamic dns service such as DynDNS.com All you have to do is then navigate to your dynamic dns page in a web browser, that will forward you to the web server on your PC which displays the page you created and therefore your webcam. Only downside I can see is as mentioned above, you will have to leave your computer on and any data will count towards any monthly allowance you may have with your isp.

I have just bought a DLINK DNS-323 and its really good. It has 2 bays to allow for raid 1, media server, itunes server, print server, ftp server. Then all you have to do is buy 2 hard drives of whatever capacity you want to go in it.

ok, I have found another strange way round this problem. In Word, click open, navigate to the folder where the xml files are and select them all. Click on tools and then there is an option to print. Shown that by one of the women in the office who now thinks she knows more about computers than me!! damn her!!

This is really annoying me. We are printing out multiple reports that have been generated in SIMS but they are exported in an XML format. This is normally not a problem because the files can be opened in word and printed as you would any other normal document. However, what I cant do is highlight multiple XML documents, right click and print. Im sure this can be done, either with a registry hack or some other method. Someone must be able to help me. I have tried renaming the extension to .doc as mentioned in another forum on here, and I still cant right click and print. James

I think you can do that with an adobe acrobat form. I have never done it but I seem to remember seeing it somewhere. you can create the form, and include an 'email this completed form' button. Not sure about your other requirements

Ive seen a lot of videos on you tube and similar that is a recording of someone elses screen. The one function that I like but cannot seem to find in any software is the ability to zoom in and out. On some videos ive seen, there is a green box, then the video zooms to that box. What software is this or is it edited after the capture is taken?? Ta James

could you create another user account that blocks the policy you want. They can then use this account when they log in to said machine.

set up a virtual network using VirtualBox or Virtual PC. you can then install server 2008 and a number of client OS' to test on without connecting to the main domain.

I agree with @2097 except for the MAC addresses of all machines. Not really sure that's of any use. Also don't forget to include any 'non-standard' things you might have implemented that could be mission critical. Will your successor come in on his first day, look at something and think "why on earth has he done it that way?" only to find when he changes it that there is a very specific reason for it.

If it were me, keep a test domain away from the 'live' domain. Then it doesnt matter what you do, it wont effect anything.

Is it picking up the time from any other policies you might have. Default domain policy or similar?? edit: run a gpresult and check all the other policies the computer is picking up.
