any problems in the event log maybe??
-
Ok, will this delete anything that i dont want it to? Do you know exactly what the problem is??

This is a good site that I hadnt found using google. the things it suggests havent worked though. I think the decision is out of our hands now because of the BSF thing. If what you say is correct ZH, we may get luck and they will choose something else to use in the library.

Done that already. nothing!

what if you try removing the time schedule policy. gpupdate /force. change the time locally. reinstate policy.see if the time changes back to Friday at 3pm.
-
yeah, We would ideally have upgraded to oliver but the school is being rebuilt though BSF and that means no spending!!

Hello All, We use Alice here in our library and its always going wrong. Now its giving me an error message when we try to use the inquiry function. The message says... Fatal CDB Error An error has occured in a CDB object Method : AttachIndex Error : -265 File : Record : 0 There is nothing in the event logs to suggest anything wrong. I have restarted the server its located on. Does anyone have any ideas what this is all about. Cant phone support because we stopped paying for it. Thanks James

a 3 year cycle is good because of things like warranties. Put it to your BM that what if they go with their suggestion and after 4 years, everyones laptops have problems, you will have to replace more than you would have done after 3 years. We used to have a cycle until our school was selected for BSF then basically no spending on anything now until the new school is finished.

Id like an app that will list all of the computers in school then be able to send a message to a chosen PC. Or view the event log on my phone. Remote shutdown/WOL any computer from my phone. just a few ideas.

£1000 to spend on consoles & games! Help needed ...
Admiral208 replied to Luke_T's topic in General Chat
Do you need a hand with the testing? Im free and can be in Oxford in about an hour... could always bring a zx spectrum with a collection of Dizzy games. Might even have a Chucky Egg lying around somewhere... -
If its for PXE then take a look at TFTPD32. you can use it to boot to PXE and use an existing DHCP server. Ive used it with Partimage before. i haven't used it in a long time though but i'm sure someone else on here must know a bit more about it than me.

A lot of colleges do adult courses/evening courses on things like car maintenance. Why not enroll on one of those.

the reason that its still displaying install updates and shutdown is because you have disabled the option to 'Do not display...'. that should be enabled. are the updates being installed?? if you look in the WSUS console it will give you a couple of pie charts to give you that info.
-
a) there is an option within GP to download and install. The first option within the GP is "Do not display 'download and install' option in shut down... , You will want to check the Allow immediate installation of updates too. b) if you have set the group policy to download updates at a certain time, then if you try to change it locally, you wont be able to. Check the policy to make sure that the time you want is correct. Have you changed the time recently? run a gpupdate /force and check again.

thanks for the test. i have tried it on my machine, my bosses machine, every PC in the music room (about 15). Audio definitley plays. Will try a MIDI file now. I agree with you mjs, I cant see that the audio would be a midi but ill give it a go anyway.
