This is strange, I have had exactly the same thing happen here yesterday. The printer is also a 2015n and the problem was that the printer also wouldnt pick up an IP. The paper jam warning light was on even though there was no jam. Took the covers off and gave it a bit of a clean. Then it started working. I put the covers back on and it stopped working again!! Everything that i have read on the net suggests that it is the board. Does the whole 'baking the board' thing work?? I guess I have got nothing to lose really.

a teacher once said to me completly straight faced, "can you take a look at this broken tape player, i dont know if this comes under your remit... but its got a plug"!! I could have punched her straight in the face. Told her I wasnt allowed to touch it and she should speak to the HT about getting it repaired.

Can't you just replace the default profile on a Windows 7 machine?
-
disable all start up programs in msconfig and check again. enable them one at a time to see what is causing the problem.
-
If you need to make changes to 500 machnines, do it through group policy. If you need to make more specific changes (i.e. to a single machine) then you can do it the other way.
-
log on as a local user > make the changes > log on as administrator > copy local users profile and rename to default user

I tested Achat a little while ago. bit like msn messenger.

It depends on what you have called your folders. If you can name the folders the same as their username you can map the drive with the %username% variable. New GPO > user configuration > preferences >Windows Settings > Drive Maps. Right click in the space to the right and select new Drive Map. Action = Update Location = \\server\foldershare\%username% Label as 'whateveryouwantittobecalled' Give it a drive letter. Done. The other option would be to use permissions to allow only the users see their folders and not everyones folders.

Afternoon all. Im sure i am being a complete spanner, and this is going to be really easy, but i cant see for looking. Our students have redirected desktops/my doc etc. I can find teh policy where the My documnts are redirected but I cannot find the desktop policy. Its not there. I have run a policy wizard and results from GPMC and cant find any settings that im expecting to see. Can someone shed any light on how I can find out. The redirection is working because if I add a shortcut to the folder, it appears on the desktop. Thanks James

we had some problems here with a connection to the LA servers when the two routers were set to different port speeds. We were using a port speed of 100meg Auto duplex and they were using 100meg full duplex. Until we set them to be the same, it was throwing up all sorts of issues. it wouldnt ping, couldnt figure it out. took us ages!!

Your house might have gone down in value but so has the one you might buy. Its a buyers market at the moment and should you make a good investment in the near future, you might end up making more money than you would have before the market went 'pete tong'. Every cloud and all that...

Morning! I want to run this script on all our PC's as a login script. @echo off Echo Save the batch file "AU_Clean_SID.cmd". This batch file will do the following: Echo 1. Stops the wuauserv service Echo 2. Deletes the AccountDomainSid registry key (if it exists) Echo 3. Deletes the PingID registry key (if it exists) Echo 4. Deletes the SusClientId registry key (if it exists) Echo 5. Restarts the wuauserv service Echo 6. Resets the Authorization Cookie Echo 6. More information on http://msmvps.com/Athif Pause @echo on net stop wuauserv REG DELETE "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate" /v AccountDomainSid /f REG DELETE "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate" /v PingID /f REG DELETE "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate" /v SusClientId /f net start wuauserv wuauclt /resetauthorization /detectnow Pause Can some clever fellow modify it so that it checks for a text file called WSUS.txt on the root of c:\. If the file is present, dont run the script, if the file doesnt exist, runs the script. I have zero idea how to do this and my earlier attempt failed miserably. Or is there a way that I can make these registry changes only once with GP Prefs.? Any help much appreciated. James

to be honest, I wouldnt ever take a pay cut. I hardly earn anything as it is. This is all to get me a better salary now. Everything thats happening is to get me more money but he and I dont want to make myself too expensive to emply in a years time. Im not even that concerned about the chance of being made redundant next year. All i want to know is what the average salary is for an RM employee that will be doing the same as im doing now.
-
We were due to sign for financial close on the wednesday, I think it was the monday when Gove announced the cuts. Everything went into turmoil here. Eventually decided that the money that had already been spent would have been a huge waste so they finally gave us the money. Plans were for 4 schools in Bridgwater area to be rebuilt, only 2 got the funding.
-
I understand what tupe means, what it doesnt guarentee is that if im getting paid too much before I tupe, that they will give me a job after. They dont have to transfer my job, only the terms and conditions of my previous employers. They could make me redundant with a week if they wanted to. Do you have a pay scale or JD that I could look at.

Morning All, Our school is being rebuilt under BSF and as a result I will, in 18 months, be working for RM. What I am looking for is a job description of what I will be required to do. My boss has already asked the RM HR team but they dont seem to be too forthcoming with the details. What im really interested in is the salary info. The NM here has just left for a new job and I am now the only one workin here, this means that i have taken on everything that she did plus the work that I was already doing. The school wont be replacing her. The school havent yet talked about a payrise for me but I feel I want to prove myself before I make too many requests. My boss has 'implied' to me that he would like to pay me the same salary as an RM technician because that means when the time comes for me to tupe accross, I have a much better chance of keeping my job. Does anyone have this information that they could send me? It would be very much appreciated. At least I will have some idea of what im talking about before I start negotiations. Thanks James

I downloaded the client from Michaels post originally. Is your link different?? EDIT: just seen that its different. I will try the latest version now. Thanks Synack. Whats confusing me is that the office manager can use it successfully on her machine. She can move the remote app windows from screen to screen without problem.
-
I have tried it with the /span switch. It does work but its not perfect. The login section spans the centre of the screen and when you maximise windows, they fill both screens. Its a sort of workaround but i would rather get it fixed properly.
-
I wasnt using the latest version, I am now. Still have the same problem. I do now get the 'use all my monitors for the remote session' When we load the shortcut to the application, all we get is the applcation. We dont get a normal RDP session with the desktop and start menu. I have also found out that the Application is locked to the primary monitor. If I change the primary monitor in display properties, the application changes screens but then I cant get it back to the original monitor.
