  2. We are using this method (copying to default profile location on computer vs each user profile) and the settings icon also appears but not overly fussed as it doesnt open for Pupils and restricted users anyway due to GPO restrictions but is on our list to investigate how to fully remove down the line...
  3. Anyone know if Microsoft have abandoned Windows 11SE? Can't find any Windows 11 SE devices out there at all. If not abandoned - does anyone know where there might be stock?
  4. A number of schools have just received an e-mail from their local authority requesting that they whitelist the local authority's e-mail domain. We know that their e-mail domain has been compromised 3 times in the last 18 months (distribution lists) which resulted in phishing attacks on schools. We've raised concerns about doing this and won't unless explicitly instructed to do so but what are your thoughts?

  6. A parent at one of our schools has requested to remove a pupil's details from all electronic systems in the school. The child is still a pupil at the school but they have asked to remove (not disable) any and all information regarding the pupil from Class Dojo, Google GSuite, LGfL, and even the school's MIS (Integris G2). Also, we are getting conflicting information regarding consent. Do schools have to get explicit consent to sync data to Google GSuite and Office 365? Thanks in advance.

  13. What I'm really struggling with is that this seems like a really easy problem to fix. The current process is; 1: Pull data from MIS 2: Create local file with data from MIS 3: Push data to MLS (or other) All they would need to do is to add a 4th step; 4: Delete local file with data from MIS This seems like a no brainer, at least until they work out how to encrypt the data. We had a case recently where a school secretary installed an exporter (not for MLS) on her office computer which would be storing exactly the same data on the C: drive of an unrestricted computer. i.e. any other member of staff could have browsed to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Groupcall\Xporter\(online software manufacturer)" and gained a copy of all pupil data without entering so much as a password.
  14. When I asked them about this they said that they assume that the server it's installed on is fairly secure and that access to that folder is restricted. This is quite an assumption and there's no need for this to be installed on the server - it could be on a workstation in which case, how secure would it be then. I'm not aware of any specific warning messages or documentation where it informs users of this which is even more worrying. I'm tempted to disable these tasks. I've just discovered that the MyConcern Groupcall does the same thing but only pulls changed data. @RLR - do you know if the MLS export only pulls changed data or does it pull the whole data set every time? - - - Updated - - - It does seem to be a lot of information for no real reason.
