  1. Hello all I have a problemwith spam on our network and I think its from a compromised email account. What steps should I take to remove the problem I ask this as I have had no training on how to deal with this issue or how to manage Exchange Server. Would getting all of our staff to have their account passwords changed be the first step Thanks
  2. Hello again. server 2008r2 windows 7 laptop exchange server for emails A teacher complained that she could not login to her laptop. I checked the AD to find her user, and it had disappeared. I re-created her as a user on the domain. I asked her to login on her laptop and everything was fine. 10 minutes later the same thing happened again??? any ideas Thanks
  3. Sorted I typed in http://localsource/fog/management and it came up with a message that fog needed updating I pressed update and voila So what is the difference between http://10.6.185.6/fog/management and http://localsource/fog/management Moving onto playing with fog This should be another laugh Ta again
  4. Fog setup complete It tells me to open http://10.6.185.6/fog/management but I get a error ACCESS DENIED Do I need to change some settings on the proxy server Ta
  5. Hi again I have installed ubuntu 10.04 lsv Just downloading the fog 0.32 tar I am using Ubuntu 10.04 - FOGProject Wiki and its telling me to setup a static IP Address Can you clarify What should I put in the settings? Ta
  6. Been trying to install UBUNTU and then FOG. What a laugh it has been...On and off 4 days. Tried a few different tutorials but there is always problem. I am not LINUX literate but I am learning fast. I was going to give up but I am going to have another go tomorrow. If anyone has the time to help I would be very very grateful I am going to use the guide from https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9458832/Ubuntu%20install%20guide.pdf if anyone want to follow me along. I have lots of stupid questions to ask about linux repositories, keys, sudo, bash etc Ta Frustrated but not beaten yet!
  7. Thanks for that I will try that tomorrow Ta again
  8. Ta Liam I did consider that option as well.....I will have another look at it... Just anxious that I knack up the server installing it over the summer hols... Is it easy to install Ta John
  9. Hi all. I have 35 new laptops. I have installed extra programs and made one a "master" I need to clone the other laptops. I can use a "Clonezilla" disk to do them one at a time........takes ages What about running "Clonezilla" from a 2008r2 server would that be difficult to set up. I did try to install UBUNTU on the server but the server was not too happy about that and said there was a permission problem. Any tips Ta
  10. I found out that there was a dodgy tape in the tape drive which I removed. I tried everything again "scan" "inventory" etc. I discovered that the offline tapes were full. I got fed up and moved them. all(offline) to the "scratch" area. I done test run of the backup and it worked. I then started a full backup and it started OK. See what happens to morrow? TA
  11. Okay ..will try that tomorrow Thanks TA
  12. I managed to get a full backup done and I removed the tape for safety... Now its playing up again. Everything I do (Initiate, Inventory, Test,) always comes back with a media problem ........and with the additional problem of 6 tapes offline . Used the Dell TL2000 interface to do an inventory etc but it still say there is a tape problem. My simple mind tells me to take all of the tapes out and try again from scratch. Is it possible that I could add one tape at a time and format them then do an inventory to get them back on line Ta.
  13. SIMs was installed for a trial on the eportal server....(Nobody officially informed me!). Then they wonder why eportal was not working. When SIMS was installed it took charge of port 8080............then eportal broke. They then set up eportal to use 8081. and it worked...................... When I installed an update for eportal (remember I did not know this info) eportal broke again! I have since found out how to change the settings using the .XML file that is stored in the eportal config file... I know doing a trial run with SIMS on the Facility Server is going to cause problems...But "Them upstairs" dont! TA
  14. Thanks for that... Our default mis is eportal......but someone decided that they would like to run SIMS. I was not tasked for the job or involved. the conflict of ports crashed eportal. Support has set up port 8015 for eportal but when a backup was done it changed its port and crashed. This info will help me lots Thanks TA
