Hi, Looking for a recommendation of a wireless drawing tablet for maths to use with a projector & laptop setup. Windows or Chromebook compatible. The aim is to improve how easy it is for maths teachers to digitally display equations and the like + be able to save them (rather then using physical pens) we don't have interactive whiteboards or screens. Thinking Wacom as a starting point but if anyone does this do let me know. Would it help / be necessary to have the image they are drawing on on the tablet or does it work well without? Thanks!

Can you tell me which community college that is? I'm curious how far schools may have gotten with this. Thanks

Could this be a workable solution do you think? - Robust / Redundant Internet - BYOD - enforced AV, e-safety monitory, Internet filtering, enforced security policies - Office 365 / G suite - apps installed for auto syncing - Printers - web based? - Backup Devices - for when BYOD device inevitably fails (possibly chromebooks?) - MIS, HR, Finance, Digital Signage, Website, VLE, Helpdesk etc services all online - Backup / Disaster Recovery - this would involve taking things off the cloud regularly? The biggest stumbling block aside form not wanting to be reliant on 3rd parties for core services ... was: - Specific software for departments, eg: Music software, DT CAD, etc ... - Specific hardware for departments, eg: Science sensors, Music keyboards, etc... Most, but not all of that software could be installed on an offsite virtual machine farm ... Anyway, I'm looking for other stumbling blocks, things that could be missed when considering this ... and potential benefits I guess. I all came about from the question of what might you do differently with IT services if you were to found a new school today (a physical not virtual one). Thanks!

Education - Preview - Apple Looks like the update we've all been waiting for ... information is currently scarece but I've contacted the given email address to request more info and keen to start discussing with people who want to test & then probably deploy ASAP like us Thoughts so far: - I doubt there will be any integration with AD infrastructure, rather replicating it using Managed Apple ID's. This will still be useful though and if the user settings for apps carry across then our current AD integration can follow the students between iPads. - Password reset with teachers is always nice - Photo ID login seems to contradict their data moving with their login to a new iPad? - Simpler login for young students will be nice in the junior school - Classroom app replicates functionality that the teachers don't use on our lab machines already but hey you never know! - Sharing work via Airplay may be easier / more consistent than using Airserver - Depending on how involved the MDM is would depend on how useful it is but the basic description is pretty all encompassing ... - Managed Apple ID's will mean a bit more work, but so much easier to roll out to staff / students

Hi All, There may be a role for a Deputy Network Manager / Senior Technician / 2nd Line Support role becoming available in the immediate future. Based at an excellent school in St Albans, Hertfordshire. The role is very flexible, between 50-75 % P/T or F/T Fixed for 6 months or 18 months in the first instance with the possibility of becoming permanent. There's a few variables in play and we're very interested in hearing from anyone who may be keen. Pay is negotiable, but with the benefits available, excellent IMO. Start date is ASAP, but again flexible so just get in touch. PM would be best in the first instance. Many Thanks, Luke

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has successfully implemented Google Apps SSO with ADFS as I've hit a bit of a brick wall and am pretty sure I've misconfigured something along the way so hoping to run it past y'all. Here's hoping! PS: The error I'm currently getting is when I browse to my google apps domain, eg: https://drive.google.com/a/mydomain.com It redirects to my ADFS server, then redirects back to the google address: https://www.google.com/a/mydomain/acs as expected, but gives the error: This account cannot be accessed because the login credentials could not be verified.
