After buying some Aruba 2530`s and comparing them to the 1920`s its a no brainer. So glad we didnt get the 1920`s!! The management is poor and the GUI is terrible. Feels backwards compared to older HPE. The Voice/QoS options are very limited. The ARP table is tiny and the POE version is noisy.

Ours staff ID badges include... -ID badge - Containing name, photo, school name, -Printer/Copier access/release, -Door access, -Bar code for signing in and out. Would a lost staff badge mean we would need to log as a data breach? Thanks in advance!

Weve got a few 1920`s here already and your right they dont compare to the CLi of the older switches. But how often do they need to be configured vs double the cost. I dont suppose there were other reasons why they were dismissed for the 2530 range please? PS. I think all the 2530`s are now EOL anyhow.

same here, running many 2650/2626`s.. no capacity issues at all. BUT, we are looking to replace with 1920`s mainly for the added POE. Has anyone else got 1920`s? they are half the price of the equivalent 2530 range. ?

You can install the "Notification Console" on their PCs

If I remember you have to give access to control panel but then limit which parts they have access too. For your issue I think they need "Microsoft.Personalization" in the allow list.

We have been using Notify for a few years now and it has been near perfect. This is a really generous offer from Al !!

Hi, no ping until we disconnect/connect the trunk / tagged link or reboot the switch

We have replaced 4 switches with HPE 1920G`s Every now and again i find that we cannot ping the new switches apart from devices that are directly connected. From our PCs (not directly connected) I can ping the devices attached to them and also to switches that are connected to them. If i disconnect then connect the link port (or disable/enable the port) we can then start to ping the switch again? The link ports are setup as trunks (or tagged/hybrid as HP call them). This is the same for all 4 switches. Is there something silly that I am missing that someone may not have seen before? Thanks in advance.

Cant remember exactly what you press, but there is a button combo to swap the interactivity to the other screen using the two buttons on the smartboard.

We have a weird error that someone has spotted, I was wondering if anyone esle had seen this. They saved their changes to a word document in a very odd way and it seems to have found a bug/glitch in our setup. Staff have mapped drives, N being their home drive. Their Documents/Pictures/Downloads are redirected to their N drives. So if they access files through Documents or through their N drive they get the same files... A user saves a file in their Documents / N Drive and then loads it up again to make changes. They then make their changes and instead as most would just clicking "Save" they click "Save As", then browse through their files by clicking "Documents" and then saving over the top of the file they get a the overwrite file pop up box as below. If they then click "Replace File" they return to their document, if they then click save it breifly pauses with the hourglass and then appears to have saved. But it doesn't save the changes? no errors or warnings. When they close finally Word it asks if they would like to save the changes, if they click yes it goes back to the document? The only way out is to click "Dont Save" but then they lose their changes? If they instead of going through "Documents" when they "Save As" and browse to their folder though their mapped drive they get a different (normal) save as warning: Saving this way saves successfully. Has anyone ever seen this before or know what conditions you would get the different file overwrite warnings? Server 2012 R2, Office 2016 both fully patched. Thanks!
