    I have the policies configured! I don't allow driver updates (because firmware), I have a schedule and busy hours. I don't see an option to allow / disallow OS upgrade! if you need admin credentials to install a program why does an entire operating system not?!? These are standard users, they can't install a printer or a program without credentials?!? but the OS. is it considered a rollup update or feature update?!

    errr, I've seen two staff this morning with Windows 11 on their laptops! I asked how it happened and they said the laptop told them to.... How are non-admin users able to update an operating system?!!?! How do I disable this! What GPO is there! ffs Micro$oft

    nothing, just taking it off and giving it to the pupils.. enjoy! These devices are not used on site for us and we are not offering support, so I'm not bothered.

    I've used Wevideo (you can create a trial account) it worked great! I've recommended it going forward over our old Serif Video x4

    Sorry! I mean "think conservatory" as in a lot of windows not back to the sun midsummer beach. The sun enters the offices and the screens are in front or to the side of a window, so they don't battle sunlight directly. The outside light is behind the monitor or to at nearly a right angle.

    Just bought some Xenta monitors IPS and rated brightness of 250CDM With energy savings disable and brightness 100% in a well lit room they are... just enough. Anyone know of monitors that work well in a brighter room (think conservatory) I have some offices that get good light and people resent having to close the curtains or blinds to use them comfortably. anything you know is brighter or is rated higher. (and doesn't cost the earth.)

    anyone know what I did, I was given these instructions and blindly followed: Go to Microsoft Azure Active Directory > External Identities > Cross-tenant access settings (preview) > + Add organisation - add THE OTHER DOMAIN Once added click outbound access > B2B direct connect > customise settings > allow access for both users and groups and external applications and apply to all. B2B collaboration settings can stay as the default

    @matt214 we run fusion on 3rd gen Intel i5 PCs no issues. We use the web version, nothing our pupils do is an issue. (in terms of part complexity)

    when I get a new load of laptops (inc dynabooks) I set the BIOS password , then the boot order to be PXE first. When windows installs the boot order is updated automatically. (I don't know how as you'd think a password would be needed)

    Ha! I gave up. I told our maths dept. I couldn't get it to work (as I couldn't), if Casio is going to be so fing precious about their calculator emulator, they can stick up their bum. its already a veiled advert for their product why make people jump through convoluted hoops. (could have had an interactive webpage durr)

    if you setup a vlan as a guest network the clients are limited to only the gateway (not even each other), if that helps.

    the DHCP issues occurred with various devices using certain network cards. This was particularly after upgrading to the Unifi NanoHD APs. Various things tried and firmware updates but they just don't like certain networks cards. I've had to replace 3 Wi-Fi laser printers as they refused to work well (replacing the unifi square ac, in the same locations) with the new nanos. Other older laptops (n only) I forced to use 5ghz in preference.

    Half Life Alyx was on my bucket list but the cost of the hardware was a hard NO. Well I bought a Quest 2 for xmas and a RTX 3050 recently! (phew) Now using oculus airplay I can play... and OMG it is as good as I hoped it was.. I'm so happy, it really is the HL3 we never got. Also: witcher 3,2,1 I own all of them.. conan exiles fallout new vegas and 4 mass effect 1,2,3 last of us, god of war (any) metal gear (any) I bought a PS3 for these...
