So long as teh supply unit does not have an inteligent supply with a "Sense Pin" the you should be fine. If the charger uses the larger round style plug with a pin in the middle then the laptop will not recoginse the charger and will not charge even though it will power on. Rob

I would buy Dell We have mainly HP at teh moment as that was what our procurement offeerd but I would go back to dell. We have a DEV system comprising of some older HP ML350 G5's , I was fairly shocked to find out that there is only 2 system fans on the back of the machine, no drive bay cooling or other ventilation. I found out after leaving the side pannel of for a couple of days and cookign 4 SAS drives! We still run 4 Del 2950III machines along side our HP Blade enclosure. I would avoid anything other than the big manufacturers. Rob

Our P4500 is connected on 1GB and has never been a problem, it connects to the core and then we have 10GB CX4 cable to the C7000 which is populated with 10 Virtual desktop hypervisors, 3 Server Hypervisors and 3 Physical servers.

Ours is all Paxton Net2, works ok. I recon I could install it all myself ( door controllers and all ) now I have seen it. if you have a looped system then it may be easy to just swap the door controllers leaving the releases. Same goes for a IP system. Rob

I got a Bike on Cycle to work a couple of weeks back, been using it for leisure and my 2M cycle to work. Our Blackberry Enterprise Virtual Server has been up 661 days, running on a 2008 Dell PowerEdge 2950III . It's on 2k3 server and it must never have been rebooted after being built! Will have to check how long the vMware hypervisor has been up as it was running long before then. Had out Cisco 4507 Cores for 5 years and expect 3-4 more out of them at least. TT

We stopped buying hard glass years ago as the cost did not make any sense. In 2.5 years we have had 3 monitor out of 250+ badly damaged by scoring them with sharp impliments and one cracked panel. Prior to that we had some hard glass screens and in 18 months 5 out of 100 got nocked over and left very dangerous glass shards all over the place. Rob

There's a number of ways to set it up.. You should have a voicemail hunt pilot on call manager, the way we do it is to forward all calls to our main mumber from our voice gateway to a directory number on call manager. that directory number forwards all calls to voicemail. Unity has a routing rule that matches the dialed number of the extension and sends the call to the auto-attendant ( you can have multiple routing rules to allow you to handle incomming ddi's going to different autoattendants. You need to configure the greetings for "standard" at the very least ( if the attendant's schedule is set to "all hours" ) and configure the caller input. Hopefully you have got rid of the annoying American voice's already. Rob

what is the configuration of the port on the cisco it should be mode "access" and have the access vlan that is on the 172.16.254.20/24 network. Rob

so changing the DNS entry on the server to 8.8.8.8 allowed you to ping 8.8.8.8 ? when you could not before? That's very odd.

So it's not a DNS issue then. Tracert to 8.8.8.8 , see where it gets to. Do it on the other server as well. Rob
