About jmair

  1. I only know of Active Directory to manage Microsoft users. Do they have a solution to manage student's devices and accounts like Google has? With Google I can quickly push testing Kiosk apps to their devices, lock down devices, add Apps etc. My new super is asking about moving our chrome devices to Windows devices and I need to be updated. You guys are the first place I thought I would ask. Thank you!
  2. brilliant. worked like a charm, thank you!
  3. I'm in need of making an admin account that can make changes only to staff computers. Is there a way to do this?
  4. I know we have protections for filtering web traffic, but do we have anything in the USA that helps/requires schools to address protecting their student's digital identity or footprint? Parents seem pretty worked up about boys looking up boobs, but not their digital citizenship or what can be tracked etc on minors. I wasn't sure who else I could ask this question or what other forum would be a better place to ask.
  5. I've been tasked with putting a strobe or action light in our band room to fire off when the passing bells go off. We have copper wire that goes to each classrooms speaker for passing bells. I believe there is a device I can put over the speaker wire that will flash or blink when it senses a signal in the wire. Any of you know what that device is called or can suggest a solution?
  6. guess It's just an .exe file.
  7. I installed an app on a teacher laptop. The app is requiring Admin credentials each time it's opened. This means they can't run it. Is there a way around this without making them Admin on the local machine?
  8. Currently Securly at the moment. We do have plans on moving to Bloksi at the request of a few staff next year. Everything I've seen has been for a full school or classroom, not one kid yet. I'm thankful for the suggestions and will take a look. Thanks everyone!
  9. We have one student that is needing to have their websites limited during certain hours and then open when the student earns it. The teacher will manually allow/disallow their access. Can anyone suggest an App that could meet their needs?
  10. These are 24hour traffic reports. Here's a larger view.
  11. We have 100Mbps for our site. Getting a 2.5 Petabytes in 24hrs might be a hard ask.
  12. Sorry about that. It's a Palo Alto firewall.
  13. I don't know what P and T stands for now on our firewall. We don't have enough bandwidth for this to be Petabytes and Terabytes in 24hours. So what does P and T stand for under "Bytes" when I check traffic reports?
  14. Our Public WiFi is unencrypted, then sent to an external offsite DNS web filter. Perhaps this is causing 'unusual traffic' ?
