I've found Meraki throws "Error - The iTunes Store ID of the application could not be validated" whenever it's had an issue assigning a VPP licence and tries to install an app without a licence. Sometimes this has been my fault, as I've not obtained enough VPP licences to cover all devices. Sometimes, even though Meraki can see that licences are available, I have to do a full VPP sync before licences are assigned to $iPad_SerialNumber. And sometimes there seems to be no reason. I'd guess this is a Meraki issue, rather than Apple, as Meraki can see the licences are available, but fails to assign them to devices, but tbh I've not got to the bottom of it. I'd be interested to know if others using different MDMs also have this issue.

The password field is for protected SSL certs, so you can leave it blank if the cert you want to push isn't password protected.

We have some darling little angels who like to rip mice from their cables and then zap each other with the exposed wires.

Ah I thought it wasn't working yet - I guess I should be more patient -
Re-enrolling Meraki for push cert - am I doing something wrong?
biz replied to loonytunes's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Did you renew your push cert, or was it created under a different Apple ID from the previous one? If you renew the certificate (even if it has already expired) using the same Apple ID that was used to create the previous cert then Meraki will still be able to manage the apps. -
Any fellow Edugeeks going to the West of England ICT Conference in June?

Has anyone heard from Keep I.T. Secure recently? We've ordered two trolleys from them, sent off the PSUs to be fitted, but the trolleys haven't turned up and they aren't answering the phone. Have they gone?

Time to start the Windows 10 rollout then, if only we'd finished the Win 7 rollout already...

We have quite a few more iOS devices that the 100 device limit, so in March I asked for a quote for licences. I didn't ask for the price of a 1 year licence, but for 3 years they came in at around £6.50 per device per year and if we're willing to sign up for 5 years it is around £5.90 per device per year. As yet the powers that be have not decided on how we're going to move forwards.

+1 for impartial, however I'll put good money on the followup question being "Can you stop it from being imparital?"

iPad Pro/Air 2/mini 4 with at least 32 GB of storage no less, so that's 0% of our iOS devices!

Who are you purchasing Apple stuff from?
biz replied to Blue_Cookeh's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Misco. iPads are delivered next day and their DEP enrolment has been quick enough. They also enrolled iPads that we purchased from them before the DEP became available. -
If (like us) you're on a 'legacy' licence this isn't available, sadly. We're either going to have to cough up the dough or migrate them to a new, free-under-100-devices Meraki instance.

Use of personal devices for photographing children - Safeguarding risk
biz replied to elsiegee40's topic in e-Safety
@elsiegee40 I can't believe the flak you got in the comments of that article. The readers of the Kent Messenger don't really seem to get the issue. -
Could be a dodgy patch?

Any idea (roughly) how much Lightspeed or Casper cost per year per device?

@realtnt we've got the same setup as you, but on a bigger scale. I've just tested your scenario and turns out we have a similar problem. If I make any changes to tags for new or existing apps the number of users in scope changes to 0! I've removed the tag I added and the users in scope hasn't changed back - it's still 0. I'm guessing something's gone wrong now they've introduced device-assigned licences as a paid feature. I'm going to log a support case in the morning.

Apple Caching Server Authentication Problems with SWGFL
biz replied to ICT_GUY's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
This was one of (many) reasons we didn't renew our SWGfL contract... -
We're on a 'legacy' licence, so we're using Meraki for our 1000+ devices for free, but the new iOS 9 features aren't available to us.
