Hi James, it's good to welcome a fellow Bristolian to the forum You can check the 'recent activity' log to see what Meraki is up to. Have you used your VPP token in another MDM? Or Profile Manager? We had this issue when we switched to using Meraki. I removed the token from Profile Manager and the problem went away.

Seconded, if they don't do repairs then they aren't going to find work that doesn't need doing. If you are a council employee they might give you a discount too.

I like the wireless charging cabinets, but they aren't very secure. As a storage solution they are excellent, but they would be very easy to break into. I wholeheartedly agree with everything @jmak said above, I think that sums up our experience too - I'd definitely recommend them.

Meraki will be free as long as you signed up before 24 March 14, if you didn't then I'd shop around.

How long until that comes to the UK though?

You can put the cert in any, and as many profiles as you need under Credentials, as you say.

I imagine the curric domain would be more complex in terms of software, hardware, GPOs, etc. I'd be tempted to move the admin machines on to the curric domain, but the admin machines could have some very bespoke (read: pain in the proverbial) software installed, so you might want to go the other way.

That is how it'll work if you want it to. We have some set up with generic Apple IDs that I created and some with personal or school-email-based Apple IDs. The hardest part was getting staff to accept the Meraki invites, even after telling them to expect the email and explaining what to do and why upmteen times!

I'd not heard of that issue, and I couldn't work out why not, but turns out I was lying (unintentionally). The Mac is plugged in to a monitor with an HDMI to DVI adaptor, which means I haven't run in to that problem and get 1920 x 1200 when I VNC connect. I need to visit that cab more often My recommendation @mrwobbly is to get an HDMI to DVI adaptor and plug the Mac in to any old monitor that has a free DVI.

The DEP allows you to supervise your iPads over-the-air (no need to plug them in to a Mac), but you can still use Meraki to silently push apps without supervising your iPads. There are some restrictions that can't be turned on unless they're supervised. The DEP lets you pre-select some settings to speed up activating iPads when you first unbox them, and lets you make a Meraki profile mandatory and unremovable, which is useful. PC World Business might have a Reseller ID, there's no harm in asking.

That is correct, plus Apple Resellers with a Reseller ID in the UK.

We updated the Apple push cert in Meraki and now get "This device is using an outdated APNS topic and needs to be re-enrolled" on all devices. I really don't want to re-enrol all our iPads, but I think I might be putting off the inevitable.

@Renfield-64 in that case I'm led to believe your users can redeem the code in the same way you would redeem an iTunes Gift Card - either in iTunes on a Mac/PC or in the App Store on an iPad - there is a 'redeem' link near the bottom.

I guess an automatic sync would happen at some point as the button is labelled "force sync now", but I've never left it long enough to find out how often that happens. I'm always too impatient and force the sync
