Now that the Meraki profile is on the device it should have all the WiFi settings available to it somewhere in its tiny brain. What happens if you stop broadcasting the simple SSID? Do they flip over then? We're just starting down this path, so you're findings will be very useful. Cheers.

Agree. We ditched it when we went to Windows 7 using 'compatibility issues' as an excuse.

This appeared in my inbox this morning. The gist is from 24 March new organisations with over 100 devices will have to pay. Existing users shouldn't be affected.

Ditto. I removed the aliases after receiving the verification emails and invites to Meraki to stop the mailbox filling up with marketing emails.

Mine arrived yesterday and I'm wearing them today. They are VeryComfy, thanks @VeryPC

Ergotron Tablet Charging Wall Mount 12 - cabinet unit
biz replied to Haptic's topic in Our Advertisers
They look good, wall mounting is a very good idea. Unfortunately we've just splashed out on tablet storage. We went with the Mini T from Keep IT Secure - 10 tablet storage with built-in USBs so we can use the PSUs that came with the tablets elsewhere. They came in at about £400. -
I had an email today from Solutions Inc (an Apple reseller based in Brighton), they have their DEP reseller ID. I'm sure they'll be the first of many, but has anyone used them in the past? Are they a reliable supplier?

Fantastic! I hope there's some left.

[android tablet] Managing Android devices?
biz replied to Valyyn's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
I've found Meraki very limited when it comes to Android. Speak to Learnpad, they sent us a demo unit to trial and were generally very helpful. The devices have been very easy to manage and use in class (in a primary school).- 23 replies

Hah that's excellent! All the messing around with .mobileconfig files I did and turns out Meraki can push certificates out itself Sorry everyone for over-complicating things. @Jehanzeb assign the profile with the credentials in to all devices and you are done!
-
In this case there is no difference, the download for Android and Chrombooks (RMEducationCA.pem.crt) can be opened in Notepad and copied and pasted into Learnpad ClassConnect.

When you create a new Configuration Profile there are some mandatory fields to fill out in General. In this case I went with: It doesn't really matter what you choose, it's just for your reference as these are the certificate details that show up on the device. The actual certificate goes in under Credentials, just press Configure and upload the .crt file. You should end up with "1 payload configured". Hit Export at the top and you're done.

Meraki with Ipad woes... Need urgent help please
biz replied to mikkydoos's topic in How do you do....it?
Excellent! Well done @mikkydoos I'd forgotten about that content rating "feature", I fell foul of that one too the first time I set restrictions. I even suggested to Meraki Support that they put a little warning on the page, but they didn't seem to get the issue. Thanks for the reminder, I'm adding a note to my documentation now... -
I've just finished pushing RM's SSL certificate to all 1031 of our iPads using Meraki, it can push out a .mobileconfig configuration profile to any enrolled iOS or OS X devices. RM provide the certificate in .crt format on the page linked to several times above. I used the old iPhone Configuration Utility to add the certificate to a configuration profile and then exported the .mobileconfig file. Import the .mobileconfig into Meraki and voila, certificate pushed to all devices over-the-air.

Meraki with Ipad woes... Need urgent help please
biz replied to mikkydoos's topic in How do you do....it?
It sounds like the apps are trying to install without a VPP licence assigned. Do the apps show up in the App Store purchase history on the iPad? This is what assigning a VPP licence does - it 'gifts' the app to that Apple ID. Once the Apple ID owns a copy of the app (ie. the app is in the purchase history) it will install without a password. As a side note I enrol my devices in Meraki through the Meraki Systems Manager app, when installed it gives some extra functionality such as GPS location and the ability to send text messages. I do have to manually install the app, as it can't be pushed before the device is enrolled. -
Apple IDs for MDM- surely there must be an easier way?!
biz replied to sjb's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Yep, that does happen. I'm continually getting blacklisted. The lovely support staff at [email protected] are always very quick in giving our domain a 30 day whitelisting. I usually get back up and running same-day (taking in to account the time difference between here and Austin, TX). -

I emailed [email protected] and this is the reply I got back: I emailed her the info and she got back to me the next day saying our domain was whitelisted for 30 days. -

There are some handy applescripts out there that will create the Apple IDs for you by looping through the free app creation process in iTunes. I also found one that clicks the links in the verification emails. Handy when you've got more than a few to do (and a lack of minions). -

I could never get silent installs with the same Apple ID in multiple iPads, I spent last summer trying! Eventually I had to concede defeat and create an Apple ID for each iPad. -
Meraki - Push IOS apps with no password promt ???
biz replied to mikkydoos's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
+1 @Tammie I used that guide too and it works well. You do not need a credit card verified Apple ID on each iPad because as soon as you do step 4 in the Meraki guide (assigning VPP app licences to a user) the app shows up in the user's purchase history. You can go in to the App Store on the iPad and download the app from there, it shows up with the cloud download symbol. Or move on the step 5 to push the app out from Meraki. Whichever way you install the app on the iPad, you do not need the iPad's Apple ID to have credit card details.
