  1. Salamander and Edulink +1 for both!
  2. We have a major issue with the cloud based version of Impero Edpro Cloud. All staff just get 'Grey Screens' when attempting to view Students Chromebook devices. We have all the required Firewall rules in place to allow access and there are no restrictions between the staff devices (wired) and the Student Wireless VLAN. We can make it work by changing the 'Anonymize Local IP's exposed by WebRTC' to disabled in Google Chrome but this isn't a solution as staff are required to do this on each device and staff move around! Has anyone else come across this and have any suggestions? I have spent over 2 months troubleshooting with Impero and now everyone is back in school it's causing real Teaching & Learning issues. Impero just keep blaming Firewall Rules or local network issues however i've spent hours with our ISP/Firewall Team and the Network Engineer who oversaw the installation of our networking infrastrucutre who have both confirmed there are no issues with their setup so it must be an Impero issue. Any help/advice appreciated. Thanks, Dean.
  3. I thought as much. I'll tell her to find something else!
  4. Hi, Our Spanish Teacher is trying to use the following resources on BBC Bitesize - BBC - Languages - Spanish - Mi Vida Loca: Real Spanish, Real Drama - Episode 1 They work in Internet Explorer but don't seem to work in Chrome on Windows or Mac Devices. All our students have Chromebooks - Any ideas how to get the resources to work in Chrome including on Chromebooks otherwise they are not much use. Thanks, Dean.
  5. We use GDPRiS and will be moving to GDPR Sentry when our 3 year term that we are locked into is up as it is much more user friendly although GDPRiS has improved somewhat over the last few months. They cost about the same from memory.
  6. Is anyone using the Homework part of Edulink having moved from Show My Homework? We are considering this to save money just looking for honest feedback ...
  7. We've used it for a couple of years and it's amazing! We're going to start looking at switching some of other things off and moving them to Edulink to save money such as Homework, Seating Plans, Parent evening etc. It could save us thousands each year!
  8. Anyone using this and how useful have you found it? Are you just using it for Update Compliance or also Device Health etc?
  9. Hi, Does Cloud Drive Mapper support Google Drive in the same way it supports Office 365? Thanks, Dean.
  10. Switchshop where giving away Qi Wireless Phone chargers - One for the Office and one for at home!
  11. 120k for 100 PC's and upgrades to 256GB/8GB RAM - You are being massively ripped off this is nearly £1000 per PC! The first thing i would be looking is to ditch the Support Provider who are clearly not doing anything in the schools best interest. Why haven't they picked up on the lack of licensing? Has someone got access to the VLSC and actually confirmed that you still have access? If you don't any Volume Licensing would be a new agreement which would come at a higher cost anyway as you are not an exisiting volume licensing customer. I agree with the other comments you need to get someone in to write a full report and suggested direction. It sounds like there are far too many people involved - some who have IT Knowledge and others who have none so just say yes/agree to things for an easy life and this isn't going to get you anywhere and also cost you a fortune.
  12. Thanks to Matt for all his help to get this working. It's a great system and will really help us out being able to deliver notifications in this way.
  13. How are you doing this actually syncing exchange distribution groups to GSuite would be incredibly useful?
  14. Hi, We use RM Unify as our Single Sign on platform all students and staff but also want to sync our active directory security groups up to Google. Has anyone else attempted to do this? Is it possible to just sync Active Directory security groups? Thanks, Dean.
  15. We use Edulink One provided by Overnet Data and they have a Data Collection feature which we are in the process of rolling out currently.
  16. I agree with my DPO hat on - Parental Permission required. It's an extra job for a member of the Admin team but that's far safer than the consequences of a parent complaining to the ICO etc.
  17. Netsupport are helping me set this up.
  18. Hi, We had a new Fire Alarm over the Summer and it can trigger email alerts (currently these just send to me). The School Business Manager would like me to find a way to turn this email alert which states wether it is a Fire Alarm or a Lockdown drill into a Desktop Alert that appears on all desktops clearly stating that it is indeed a fire drill and to evacuate or a Lockdown drill in which case follow the procedure on your desktop. Anyone aware of anything that will do this?! We have Netsupport Notify but this currently doesn't do this. Basically, the idea behind this is so that it is automatic and doesn't rely on someone being in the IT office to send out a message to screens because apparently staff can't work out the difference between a continous ringing bell and one that rings with gaps in it to determine wether to evacuate or not! Thanks in advance for any suggestions! Apparently we can't just forward the email to All Staff either because most teachers don't have there emails open whilst they are teaching ...
  19. Hi, You right click on a batch of machines and then under then under Tasks you have Start/Shutdown etc. The same can be applied at the top level of Computer folders. Dean.
  20. We use SPC Comm - They collect the hard drives and then issue a certificate on DBAN/Shredding etc.
  21. Hi, I bundle all of them into One student PC's group. We did have individual IT Room jobs at one point but it became a pain when you had to suspend them all or delete and re-create them. You can create jobs at a room level by right clicking on the room and then creating a shutdown/start up task and these also work if new machines get added to the room.
  22. I just group my machines into 3 groups - Teacher PC's, Office PC's and Student PC's and have them as Smart Lists. I then have Start up and shutdown jobs for each - One that runs at 4/4:05/4:10 and shutsdown anything that is not logged in and not in use. I then run again at 6:30 for Student PC's, 7:30 for Office PC's and 9:30 for Teacher PC's regardless of wether or not they are logged in. The Teacher PC one is late as we have a tutor company who hires several of our rooms until 9pm for tutoring sessions every night of the week! I then just delete the jobs every so often and re-create them from the Smart Lists this way any new machines that have been added get added to the smart list and then the shutdown job etc. It also means the job is re-created manually every so often so gets round the issue of it just randomly stopping working.
  23. I would find out if you have a support plan in place for the network with RM or another provider and see what they can tell you about the setup of the network!
  24. We publish a couple of individual students along with a photo. Fairly standard practice among local schools down here. We get all students to sign a form if we take a picture of them agreeing to us publishing the information on the school website/social media and also sharing with the local newspaper. Students are over 13 so are able to provide there own consent!
  25. I agree - Desperate to take the exam!
