  1. We're 300 machines into a 700 PC migration on CC4. We where part of the 1607 field trial so began rolling 1607 out back in February. We've had no major issues and everything seems to work. We've rebuilt the first student rooms over Easter x3 so we'll see how that goes! Autograph there are some DLL files you have to copy into Program files and this got it working for us - Details on the Autograph site i believe. Regards, Dean.
  2. That's good to hear - Lightspeed offers so much more than Safetynet in my opinon.
  3. We are looking to go with SchoolsBroadband - would be interested in any one doing the same. All county services will be publicly accessible on the internet by September.
  4. Lightspeed have finally released V3 - Release Note: Web Filter Longhorn (v3.2.1): March 30, 2017 | Lightspeed Systems Community Site Who's going to upgrade?
  5. We traced it back to duckshield.com after a week long investigation and monitoring proxy logs/firewall logs and once we blocked this the VPN can't even connect! Win Win! Lots of unhappy students now lol
  6. We have no issues - It does everything we want to it to do and means the network is easy and simple to manage. You will also benefit from the new ConnectonPrem annual license model which is based on FTE could but you can build unlimited PC's and all your server licensing is included.
  7. We have a few machines with this issue thankfully all office machines that are used rarely and WOL so staff don't notice! Did you find a solution? I've tried resetting Windows update on the machine, installing manually all to no avail!
  8. Can I enquire as to what Lightspeed advice on this was. Our top domains visited our get.adobe.com and Mozilla.org etc which all sound like they are related to Hotspot shield!
  9. Already payed cunninghams for the £1 upgrade - Does he do the £10 upgrade as well which will be required in the coming weeks? Dean.
  10. We pay £895 per year. There is no install if you do it yourself and it is very simple!

  12. Why would you not split out some of the roles. Virtualise the one server and seperate out into CC4, MIS, Print, AV etc etc.
  13. Get someone in with a tester and they will be able to locate the point from either end in terms of distance at which the cable is broken. If this is accessible it may be as cheap as a re-splice/join failing that your potentially looking at a new fibre.
  14. We use RM Unify and are very happy with it. Some of the newest features including Auto creation of groups from MIS (Includes SIMS) to Google Classroom and Office 365 Groups/Classroom etc - this is very useful. Updates each night. They are also looking into changing your password in the cloud and syncing back to AD, auto-creation of AD accounts from MIS would sync to RM Unify first and then back down into AD when this comes it will be worth it's weight in gold. Happy to answer any questions you might have.
  15. Thanks Dave - We've got someone from Schools Broadband coming out on Monday for a chat and a conversation about hosted/onsite Lightspeed will be one of the discussion topics.
  16. I think i would keep my On Site Lightspeed if i went for the RM Solution.
  17. Hi, RM are who the LEA are going with for their next contract and Schools Broadband interest me due to the offerings in terms of Lightspeed which we already use on site so are use to the look/feel and Fortigate looks like a good firewall solution.
  18. Hi, I managed to work out the GPO and this appears to have resolved the issue temporarily. Let's hope Microsoft bring out a permenant fix shortly. Thanks for your help.
  19. What are people's thoughts? If you have to choose who would you go for? Either way it would be on a 3 year contract so we need to make the right choice! Thanks, Dean.
  20. Hi, I am sure you are all plauged by the Long Path issue where if you open a file from a folder that is in a long path explorer.exe restarts so that users have to re-navigate the long tree to get back to the folder should they need to open 2/3 files this is very time consuming. I haven't been able to find a fix online. Does anyone have any genius suggestions/fixes? I suspect the answer is going to be wait for Microsoft to fix it but from what i've seen it's been going on for several months already!
  21. Hi, We are an RM CC4 School and currently we are unable to use the RMMC on our CC4Anywhere Citrix 6.5 Server 2008 servers as it fails with an Authentication error. We are running version 1.0.0.5 (Yes i know it's old) we can't update to the latest version as it goes out to the internet and then comes back in which doesn't work due to the fact we are also going out via County's proxy servers and this can't route the traffic back to the Mobile Filter 6 agent correctly. Does anyone have a version of the Lightspeed agent prior to the days of ls.mobile.com - Possibly V2,3 or 4? Any help appreciated. Thanks, Dean.
  22. Hi, You can buy pens that work with the RM Classboards here we have been using these for a while now with no issues. INTERWRITE Pen Charger II - no PSU Thanks, Dean.
  23. Hi, Yes all our BVS Screens are working as expected they are great. The teachers and students love them! Regards, Dean.
  24. We've got 3 of the BVS EcoTouch screens after seeing another school who have 20 off them! We've never had any problems and neither has the other school. The sound is a bit crap but we've got round that by putting in Soundbars.
  25. This is a great article on detecting Crytolocker/ransomware early - https://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/100368-cryptolocker-canary-detect-it-early It is definately doing the rounds in schools at the moment though. I am aware of three schools in Hertfordshire who have been hit in the last month.
