Yeah, that's the one we've got. We got given 20 iPads by a local company and 10 by our LA and needed something in a hurry to manage them in class and they've been great. We did have to cable tie the cables to stop the staff borrowing them to charge phones/download photos.

We have a few of those ones off amazon, not had any issues with them. We also have a couple of the kensington charging cabinets, which again, have been fine, but are a significant expense.

Even Lenovo's own help page says it may take multiple attempts to enter the boot menu via this method!

They are connected to the network for downloading updates and for wireless display, but we only have 5 of them so we haven't bothered with the remote management.

250 clients. Physical DC is 2016, has 8GB and runs around 2-2.5gb, Virtual DC is 2012r2 core and has dynamically assigned 8GB, it hovers just over a gig most of the time.

I've had several laptops error with this. One of them was corrected by checking for updates from microsoft and installing an update that wasn't on our WSUS, but the rest have required a rebuild.

I'd be going for an upgraded router with SFP ports Something in the Mikrotik CCR range would be my choice. You could look at the black box media convertors, they're the only one's I've never had problems with, but for the price and number you're going to need, I'd just go for the router upgrade

We moved away from them a few years ago after V3 was promised to us for a year and never appeared. One site has gone a to a bespoke CMS from 3 Men2 which is OK, but they charge for extra pages and changes to certain content requires HTML/PHP editing of pages and FTP up/download which is beyond most of our staff. My other school uses Blue Chilli and I never touch their site, it's all done by SLT, which means it must be bombproof as their SLT is IT competent, but they aren't coders!

Christ, I'm showing my age here, they were still AT cases with a serial mouse when I started in IT! I've got one member of teaching staff who is ex-forces IT, and another who is an ex Sperry/Unisys mainframe programmer and whilst both of them still has a surprising number of problems, I can dispatch them with a verbal set of instructions and 9/10 the problem is solved and never re-occurs. Couple of things... Self service password service only gets you so far, there will always be hardware issues that require a physical presence to fix and shouldn't be delegated to staff for H&S reasons and compliance is becoming a massive deal, techs who aren't removing coats from keyboards to stop computers from beeping can be gainfully employed ensuring endpoints are fully patched, batteries are not swelling and inventory management is fully up to date.

I've always sold it to them that if they get p*ssed on a night out and lose their phone all they have to do is log into the Office365 portal or Email me and I can erase their phone for them, their data is secure, the schools data is secure everyone is happy.
