Interestingly I've 'forced' it onto a couple of Acer tabs that were designed for 8.1, were awful with 10, but work *much* better with 11. The only limitation is that because they don't even attempt to install the dedicated graphics and default to the MS basic driver it disables the mini hdmi output. Your mileage may vary, but don't write them off just yet.

Is the group students or other staff? If the group is students then here that would be an absolutely not, only staff would be allowed to post. Whether that is just pupils composing the posts under the direct supervision of a member of staff who says 'yes post' or a post that is drafted in word or something and then composed by the staff, that's down to your SMT to decide. Technically you could look into Hootsuite as that would allow simultaneous posts to all platforms, but it would come at a cost.

So far I have it on all the admin machines (bar one nervous nelly) 3 staff laptops of varying specs and 4 teaching machines. The only gotcha is one I've mentioned in the Windows 11 forum is that an in-place upgrade of an 10N client knocks out some media files which are required for Smart Notebook of all editions.

I've not had a recent one, but the one we had about 7 years ago was really fast and efficient but not great quality and a bit fragile - internals kept breaking and we snapped the multipurpose tray clean off it more than once.

I'm rushing my transfer to Windows 11 because 2025 is going to all about the transition to VoIP for me!

Another +1 for TeamViewer I do a couple of side gigs for various small charities and religious organisations and I just have them buy a TeamViewer sub.

Little heads up for anyone... If you in-place-upgrade a copy of any N edition of windows 10 that has subsequently had the media pack installed on it, all editions of Smart Notebook will refuse to run with a DLL error. DISM /Online /Add-Capability /CapabilityName:Media.MediaFeaturePack~~~~0.0.1.0 Seems to fix it.

That's interesting... I have a few of those and the staff have found absolutely no problem with writing. I wonder what's different between your setup and mine?

I gave up trying to make an image, it just took too long, and then too long to update every year. I just install via MDT or SCCM direct from the WIM file and then add apps either in the task sequence or by script (Lego WeDo, VLC, IrfanView, Office 2016) or GPO.

Yes, Primary here... Even though the address cannot be used for emailing, it is still their login for workspace and a host of other Google SSO enabled sites.

It should still work via Edge, but you might need to look at your intranet zones list... "Windows Integrated Authentication (WIA) Microsoft Edge also supports Windows Integrated Authentication for authentication requests within an organization's internal network for any application that uses a browser for its authentication. This is supported on all versions of Windows 10 and down-level Windows. By default, Microsoft Edge uses the intranet zone as an allow-list for WIA. Alternatively, you can customize the list of servers that are enabled for Integrated Authentication by using the AuthServerAllowlist policy. The clean installs were done using an install.wim subbed into a windows 10 SCCM task sequence and imported using the education version index.

I've done 2 clean installs and 3 upgrades. The clean installs appear to have just picked up KMS like the upgrades as they says they are activated using your organisations activation service.

That's what I've followed and I've had 0 issues now across 3 schools.

Have you set the GPO point and print restrictions to whitelist the print server?

If you follow the partial mitigation workaround in my link you can continue as before, changing the drivers only on the server. If you are determined to have the full mitigation then I would install the drivers by script or GPO or Software Centre if you have it.

I've got it working on a couple of admin machines, and 1 teaching machine. Couple of tweaks to GPO to allow recently used apps to populate the start menu which we removed from Windows 8.1/10 and a reg tweak to remove 'windows terminal' from the right click start menu.

+1 for Bodet, although you could look to swap for visual indicators like a flashing light in areas where the student is likely to be...

We've had this and the fix was to accept the invitation in chrome incognito as it them forces a sign in of the relevant account.

All of mine are created using: somegreeting@sixdigitdate obviously the date is different each time so it seems to bypass this issue.
