I've recycled an SCCM task sequence and subbed a win 11 install.wim in in place of a windows 10 one... I've added windows 11 to the products and it's getting cumulative updates from WSUS where it recieved a 'download error' from checking online.

It's worth contacting Sophos as they have been known to provide insane discounts through your local GFL. I got leant out to a site that had no filtering in place and through SWGFL Sophos supplied a a UTM gateway appliance and 5 year services subscription for less around £800 a year. The full value should have been the wrong side of 20k. They didn't even have to have any services from SWGFL, just be in their region!

We were unable to use the office 365 dictation due to the type and number of URL's that needed to be whitelisted. We chose to use the built in windows 10 accessibility options speech recognition, which, while it takes longer to train in the first place is actually more flexible.

Our LA vision support service provide HumanWare Prodigi which we then install view only VNC software on the teachers PC. Probably worth asking to see if that's available.

I have 1 person using it in production on an unsupported system - a 4th gen i5 - she was a software QA tester in a previous life and is verrrrry useful. TBF however, it's not been a problem, everything has just worked so far. A couple of minor adjustements to GPOs and a forced install of the graphics driver. That 1 person is unlikely to change any time soon.

On Track are the only company I've had good experience with. They recovered a 5gb show plot for a west end show for me within 24 hours, but they charged the company nearly 10k to do it. They need to decide what the data is worth.

Yes... I've got 2, the staff love them. They can present from a variety of devices to them, the picture is sharp (sharper than a Smartboard MX), the speakers are loud and of reasonable quality. The config options, such as home screen wallpaper, on and off timers and connectivity are good, they're pretty hard to beat. My only complaint is that the bracket we got with ours is a bit bouncier than we'd like, you may get a different bracket.

We're replacing all student Windows devices with Chromebooks on a rolling basis. Admin and teacher PCs are being replaced a few at a time, we've now got 12 compatible devices, we need 250 across 3 schools. Teacher laptops are the sticking point. The debate is: Do we replace them at all and invest in a better RDP provision for home devices, Replace them, or replace them with chromebooks and make them use RDP in the browser?

Thanks. I've gone back to the DfE and had a moan as I called one of our resellers that we have previously bought Android stuff from, and apparently they've had a load of problems with the DfE supplier not allocating licenses at all/to the right devices/to the right schools.

Worth approaching your ISP to see if they will do a dark fibre lease to create yourself a highspeed private wan and bypass all the above technicalities.

Hope this is in the right place... We've recieved 90-odd chrome devices from the DfE, 80-something all enrolled in management just fine, and I have 3 seperate subscription lines in my billing centre that correspond to the batches we recieved that say 'contracted pricing' with no expiry date. The last batch of 10 do not have a corresponding chrome upgrade line in billing, and will not enroll, no upgrades available. I have questions: 1. Is this an error on the part of the DfE provisioning? - If so, does anyone have a contact to get them provisioned correctly? 2. Are the licenses we do have perpetual or am I about to be stung for nearly 100 devices worth of licensing?
