Our MAT uses it across 30+ schools and whilst it certainly has it's quirks the MATView element does do what it says. My recommendation would be to get a call booked with their product specialists to talk you through it.

Gut reaction - add an identical second AP to the room, maybe spaced diagonally across from one another. It should be fine at that.

If we fully replicate Google to AAD we'd have about 730 users of which about 610 would be students, 90 would be licensed staff, 15 would be governors and 15 would be service accounts.

That is curious, and probably not the same issue despite the same symptoms. Might be worth an email to Google support.

Watching... We have a fully working Workspace but our MAT are asking us to go Azure cloud based for everything. I don't want to reinvent the wheel so federating AAD against Workspace seems like a good solution.

Our MAT uses it as an RDP hosted application. Bulk buying locations seems to increase your bargaining power as ours has had about 10 empty locations which slowly filled up as we took on more schools. I can only assume central IT purchased more than they need each year at a discount.

No, but it only affects your logged-on users start menu options. As soon as the logon screen is visible, anyone can shutdown or restart the machine; they just get a warning about anyone else logged in losing work that that they have to click past.

Printer model? Any print management involves?

We don't at primary, and we didn't on suite computers at secondary, but we did at 6th form and in the LRC open access area where we expected students to be working for extended periods.

If you're doing it via GPP, have you tried adding a 'delete all' printer at the top and then add everything else below it...

There was a specific update to Outlook that enabled modern auth, I've been out to 3 schools and 2 companies now where that update was either missed or actively blocked and connection carnage has resulted. On each site I've either followed the guidance included here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/enterprise/modern-auth-for-office-2013-and-2016?view=o365-worldwide and installed the specific update mentioned Or I've tweaked WSUS and it's supporting GPOs to include MS product updates then reinstalled office from the 'repair install' option and ensured that all updates had run and installed before trying to use it.

I've been generally unhappy with the coverage of the NanoHD, I'm only seeing real-world range about 2/3rds of what they advertise, so I'd be getting something-anything different. Would I go U6? Probably not - in our refresh cycle we won't be getting a significant proportion of Wifi-6 devices until it's close to time to fully refresh the Wifi too.

One of my schools has a £30 a month FTTC at around 80mb with a different provider on a manual changeover which works just fine in an emergency. The other has a secondary fibre line at 100Mb (primary is 800Mb) which is always active an they're combined in a load balancing config, I couldn't tell you if we'd failed over without going to look! We pay a shade under £120 a month for the 100Mb secondary line. Both of those backups are leftovers from previous contracts that it was just a good idea to keep hanging around!

Can you just deploy the drivers as a software package as though you'd visited the machine and installed them - I had some tricky HP drivers that wouldn't pull down from the server even before MS messed with stuff, I scripted the install of them with a silent switch on the install EXE and they've been good as gold ever since.

Preference is local all the way - students deleted after 30 days, staff after 90. One of my sites is progressively being migrated away from roaming profiles because they're just an absolute clusterf*ck of corruption and weirdness.

I can't speak from personal experience but I have 3 friends who have, or have had 500L and their experiences have not been positive. They've all experienced electrical issues: One just got her money back from the dealer after it repeatedly went into limp home during their 30-day no quibble warranty period; one has a periodic niggle where the entire dashboard and centre console goes non-functional with no warning, but recovers after an engine restart and another has an occasional issue where when you park up and lock it, the interior lights and parking lights come on after 5-10 minutes and stay on flattening the battery. The one with the lights issue has also had issues with the boot lid requiring multiple adjustment to lock correctly. The one with the dash issue has also had problems with fuel economy which seems to have been solved by a trip to the main dealer and a ECU update - they couldn't reproduce the dash fault so that is still an issue.
