I believe a Google partner has to add them to company inventory, you have to purchase through them to do it, and pay a premium for it. We just have heavilly restricted accounts with a restricted play store and remove the ability to add other accounts.

3 schools on Unifi... 500 students across 2 Schools on a single L3 routed VLAN and a flat 650 students school. DO NOT get the Lite or HD versions unless you are puting an AP in every room. The coverage is awful. Go for the Pro or LR versions. At the 500 student school we've replaced a 12 unit Ruckus setup with 35 AP-AC-HD and it's still got holes we're patching as budget allows. We only didn't go Pro due to supply dificulties. The other school replaced a 20 unit Meru setup with 25 AP-AC-PRO and the coverage is excellent and it does everything we want.

Other than contacting them, you can allow it, and then check it out on the Microsoft Entra app portal Go Admin, Go Azure AD, go Applications, go Enterprise applications, find the national college app, go permissions - it's probably just things like reading user ID.

We're seeing random impact to our users of OneDrive and Outlook, nothing more so far.

I've been asked to get a Windows display adapter working in one of our meeting rooms and it's not playing the game. The environment is Unifi wifi, NEC Screen, Variety of laptops (4th, 6th, 8th &11th gen i series with integrated graphics with up to date drivers) Windows display adapter on firmware 2.0.8350, Windows version: 10 21H2, 22H2 and Windows 11 22h2. Same behaviour on all devices. Turning on the screen and selecting the input shows the Microsoft loading screen, then the advice screen from the display adapter. Win + K on the laptop opens the side panel, shows the adapter. Clicking on the adapter shows the device trying to connect, the top bar drops down on the laptop and the image on the NEC screen goes black immediately and then shows the Microsoft logo for a couple of seconds, then goes black and the wireless display adapter reboots and come back up to the advice screen. Laptop says unable to connect. This is the first one of these we've bought. Any ideas?

Things may have changed with them in the last year or so, but we ditched working with Softcat because they were really, really pushy.

Any chance one of those stacking ports isn't configured right and the spanning tree is kicking in because it thinks it's a network loop?

I've replaced 2 hall projector/screen setups with NEC 85" and 98" displays. The 98" has a sheet of plexiglass on a custom frame a few cm in front of it to protect it from ball as it's in an area used for sports.

I've got an actual pile of POE injectors from another school - we bought that school 60 unifi APs and they all came with injectors I don't need because that school is already fully POE+ at every switch!

One school we have a folder set up - mon-fri that people drop documents into for the day they want on the bulletin. This gets cleared day by day via a script and scheduled task run overnight. The Heads PA collates (copy-pastes) the content into a template, send it to the head, the head checks he's happy with it and send it out. My other schools it's just not a thing - we just get a weekly diary digest from the staff meeting.

The plan and budget to get up to spec is already in place - it was just a question of whether we would have to bring the whole plan forwards to right now, or whether we could jump the gun with what we had and get rid of the troublesome Tosh system in the very, very near future - the words 'next couple of weeks' were used by SLT!

This is the situation we're in - an 8 way card died in it about a year ago, the supplier came out and looked, said they had 'one in stock' and then we got a package 2 weeks later that had clearly been bought off eBay and sent straight to us! We contested the hell out of that because the invoice from eBay was in the package and the supplier attempted to invoice us fully 3 times what was on the paperwork in the box in addition to the callout to assess it and install it! The conversation with the MAT is now also including the option of a secondary line that can also be used as a failover!

Having run both an onsite FreePBX and a hosted 3CX install at other sites I'd be very much favouring having an onsite PBX as having to go through the host's helpdesk to rename a directory entry every time someone moves desks is a monumental PITA I've messaged the MAT and CC'd SLT to see if the MAT can arrange their guy to do cable works at Feb half term and if they can get stock of the switches they were suggesting.

You are right - but it's not really that temporary - all the phones would stay, the PBX would stay, it would just be a config change to bring them onto their own vlan once the switches and interlinks were replaced.

It's a fairly large primary - 600+ pupils, around 250 windows device 90 chromebooks. We'd be putting in about 40 phones. I've just looked at the stats for the internet connection - we regularly run the 300/300 connection up to around 250 down so I'm not even confident that the internet connection will handle it.

One of my schools has an aging Toshiba POTS system which is getting increasingly unreliable. I've been asked by their headship to look into voip for them as a matter of some urgency. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but this particular school has about a dozen elderly unmanaged non-poe switches and no more than 1gig interlinks between switches. We knew the day would come for this equipment, but it seems to have come now! All of this is budgeted and scheduled for replacement in the next academic year, but the current phone system is needing to be rebooted multiple times a week, sometimes a day and obviously this is becoming a safeguarding risk so I've been asked to look into it right now. I know it's not advisable but does the hive mind think it's feasible for it to run satisfactorily for a few months on the flat network with POE injectors? My other option is to make a huge fuss to my MAT to bring the switch and interlink work forward?

I believe you can create a theme file, export the theme file and then apply the theme file via gpo. The only restriction is that I'm not sure if it's possible to set the 'prevent changing background' option while doing this, I believe it stalls the slideshow.

Depends what the management buy-in is like but I've been using Parago for nearly 10 years now and it does everything you want and more. It's not super cheap, but it is capable.

I have 2 machines that are experiencing this issue, one is an official windows 11 machines, the other has had it shoe-horned onto it. These machines live in a training room, and due to the drive to save money they were turned off between the start of the Easter holidays and sometime in August. They successfully installed the 2022-04 CU update, missed 05, 06, and 07 updates, and then failed to update to the 2022-08 onwards CU updates with error 0x800f0988. I'm pretty sure it's because they have missed out on a servicing stack update as part of the CU, or the 2022-04 update did not install a SSU component correctly. I've tried to do all the usual resets of update components to no avail, the troubleshooter does not detect a problem. SSU are not available separately. I've only avoided nuking these from orbit because they have a load of training software on them that is... Difficult... to reload for a variety of reasons. Anyone got any ideas?
