That normally depends on the setup of things like filters via addons. Some allow for parents to manage "out of hours" internet etc via their own portal. As it's still effectively under the umbrella of the cloud filter. Steve

Under that logic, you can re-use a school calculator/stationary/cooking items etc etc, so why are students/parents paying for it? It's still a requirement for that school in terms of equipment. I don't see why it being a license is any different, if the parents are signing up to the school knowing they have to buy a Chromebook already there is obviously some element of an understanding they're paying for items linked to ICT. That sounds more like Devolved Formula Capital, where the school gets a pot of money from the DfE every year, and they can choose what to spend it on from certain areas (buildings, grounds, IT etc). But that's not something there's a request/wait period on. The school already has that money for this year and it's just down to the schools to allocate where it's spent Steve

Normally with a "BYOD" scheme (or more a 1:1 scheme rather than BYOD) if you choose to buy your own it's still managed and deployed in the same manner during their school life - This ensures all the filtering/monitoring/apps etc are all installed and licensed Steve

In our Primaries we don't use SDS - We have "Year 1/2/3" groups etc setup manually that we rename per year as the class increases as it's normally the same teacher that stays with them and it's the same students in the classes. Not really sure there's much benefit with the SDS side of things would be for small classes like that Steve

Guess that depends which Teams you're referring to. Subject/Department teams don't get removed, so they store teaching content etc in them. Individual Classes etc get archived (If they want to then manually unarchive one to move items across they can) Steve

How did you deploy it originally and are you putting the new Teams client out or just want it fully removed? We pushed new Teams out recently, and had to script remove the "old" bulk installer as it doesn't automatically uninstall, but the new teams client removes the old teams install automatically after a few days Steve

I don't mean the full migration to InTune, but Co-Management with SCCM - They work side-by-side and you can for example just deploy AppXs via InTune while doing normal things in SCCM etc Steve

It'd be worth testing deploying it to a higher collection - If you're doing it that way I'm not sure it'll find it as it won't have the name until it knows it's there and needs to be there to know the name etc. We have it on the All Workstations as available, then filter down to name-based collections after that in the hierarchy. Also, I assume you have all the normal User Experience options ticked for allowing builds/installs outside maintenance windows etc? Steve

What have you deployed as options to the collection? It needs to be made available to PXE etc rather than just to Software Centre. Also does the collection automatically have that machine added into it or are you manually adding it in? Have you made it so the Task Sequence will pull the computer name as part of the build so you aren't manually re-assigning names too? Steve

Nothing really special for our side. We customise the installing via the Adobe deployment tools and then deploy the customised MSI with /q switch (But when do it after build rather than during TS) When you say Task Sequence if you're actually doing it during Windows deployment you'll need to make sure all your internet/proxy/filtering works as it'll be trying to live pull updates during that stage and anything that blocks it due to user filtering/certificates/inspection etc would break the install Steve

Does it actually do it automatically for you then? Normally with Wonde it won't show the CSV option if you have it automated. For example our school uses Accelerated Reader with Wonde automated and we don't see the CSV option - Another Trust school has it manual and the CSV option shows up, so I always assume you only get that option if it's manual not automated. When was the last time you deployed out a copy of Solus to a new machine? There was an issue maybe a year ago now with a Microsoft update that basically nuked the way Solus was originally installing things due to DCOM hardening. And basically required a windows update one either client/server to resolve the mismatch, but that was a while ago now so I assume if you've updated everything that should be sorted Steve

Not sure if it's changed, but in Wonde when you download any CSV there is normally a drop-down box that allows you to pick the Unique Identifier, UPN/MIS ID/Admission Number etc? If that's the case and you pick admission number I assume that means you wouldn't need to change your process? Steve
